Nothing other than WP:ROUTINE coverage, nothing to show this particular episode passes WP:GNG. Well written, but not every episode of every tv show is notable. Comment - because it's not notable. The fact that there are articles about other non-notable episodes is an WP:OSE argument. Which in this case, in my opinion, isn't valid. I came across this particular article as part of new page patrolling. Onel5969 TT me 15:42, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Article has no references outside of Soul Kingz own website and iTunes. The "notable" artists on the label all have articles created by the same person who made this article, FrankKoch, and they all base their notability on one thing: a claim of having a single song chart on the German Urban Charts with the only evidence being a facebook post from one of the artists themselves (MNSSH). Highly speculative list that leaves a lot of ambiguity. I do not recall the UK or Russian governments discount "Islamist" backgrounds in recent attacks. For London this is still undecided. Where do you draw the line and who will decide if something is islamist or not? And why do we have a list of muslim terror attacks separate from non-muslim terror attacks? I find that borderline racist. If we are talking about claims that some of those attacks were perpetrated by what the media has called "petty criminals with low life success" who happen to be muslims and pledge allegiance to ISIS (which is often unclear), this may still be Islamist or Islamism-inspired?! This list has too many grey areas to ever be reliable and factual. In likely conflict with WP:OR, WP:VERIFY, WP:!TRUTHFINDERS. Therefore delete. Jake Brockman (talk) 14:18, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Delete as some sort of weird content fork of List of Islamist terrorist attacks. The point here is spectacularly unclear; attacks by Muslims that aren't considered terrorists? Terrorists that do not declare a strictly religious motivation for committing the act? The purpose of a list is to list things that are alike, that can be grouped together and noted for their sameness. This seems to attempt to classify things by what they are not. ValarianB (talk) 14:40, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Keep The new list includes the attacks perpetrated by Muslims not Islamists to evade the uncertainty of motives ! The article does not mean racism because Islam is not a race, and it only documents incidents ! There is no need to call people racists just for creating a Wikipedia page to list incidents of people being killed and massacred by "petty criminals with low life success who happen to be Muslims and pledge allegiance to ISIS", The notification for deletion is utter nonsense combined with pathetic justifications, users argue not to include the attacks under the "Islamist attacks" so the solution for this political correctness is to categorize the incidents into a new list of "Islam-related attacks" !! Article was tagged as needing secondary sources after 6 weeks nothing was added I then Prodded it as I could find nothing over and above routine coverage it was unprodded with the comment "Does need independent sources, but really no question to me that the subject meets WP:GNG" but no sources were added to support this statement. Unfortunately all that is left is to propose the article for deletion. Article fails WP:GNG and WP:NORG Domdeparis (talk) 12:19, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Keep Deletion is never an alternative to cleanup, which IMO may not even be necessary as a Division I collegiate team should be considered de facto notable. Hell they were national champions in 1970. A rather poorly-concocted nomination, sorry to say. ValarianB (talk) 13:00, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Keep: I agree with ValarianB. Just being a Division I basketball team makes them, in my opinion, pretty notable. The article certainly could use some work, but that doesn't make it any less notable. bojo | talk 13:17, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Comment Clean-up is different to proving notability. Notability is not inherent it has to be proved and there are no rules stating that all Div 1 teams are inherently notable or presumed notable. WP:NORG applies to sporting teams and there is no independent coverage in-depth or otherwise. If you can find me any policy rules that support what you are both implying when you say "in my opinion" I will happily retract the nomination. Domdeparis (talk) 13:58, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Comment – I de-prodded the article. Because generally, every game, every roster move and every storyline gets covered for D1 programs, which is a pretty good indicator of GNG. I haven't had time to research yet, but if this case is the exception I will be happy to vote "delete." But in either case, this subject absolutely deserves a discussion rather than just fading away because no one noticed a PROD. Rikster2 (talk) 14:15, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Comment I understand the logic but knowing that a PROD is on for a week IMHO it would have been better to look for the sources before deprodding it is the 4th suggested action in WP:DEPROD. Before PRODDING it I tagged it and edits were made after the tag but 6 weeks later still no external sources to prove notability so I tried to find independent in-depth coverage myself to try and improve the article and nothing came up, as you said there may be stuff out there so I prodded it rather than Afd to give more time to address the problem. As there are no specific guidelines for teams they have to meet WP:NORG and as it is this page doesn't so even if ValarianB thinks it was a poorly concocted nomination I don't agree with him (obviously) and he may want to actually read and address the point about the notability and find the sources necessary. Domdeparis (talk) 15:04, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
OK, well I disagree and it is good that we can ensure we will have an AfD discussion. Mind you, I wasn't even required to give a reason for removing the PROD. That method is for non-controversial nominations - I don't believe this qualifies. Rikster2 (talk) 15:29, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
I didn't think it would be controversial as the article clearly doesn't meet GNG or NORG...my bad and as I mentioned addressing the problem cited is a suggested action but it would have avoided an Afd discussion though.Domdeparis (talk) 15:42, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Delete I looked for sources but couldn't find enough to show that he should have an article. This would need starting again anyway, as so much of it is definitely written by his agents. He has acted in several TV shows, it's true, but significant roles? I don't see it. MartinJones (talk) 12:05, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Comment This is pretty bad puff-piece writing that extends beyond this article, see for example Thunderstone (TV series). The line "Christopher Elliott (who later appeared in Under Jakob's Ladder" gets a mention in the lead of the article, but Elliot is over 30 spots down the full cast list at imdb. Will probably call for deletion as well, I want to do due diligence on sources first, will try to look later. ValarianB (talk) 13:11, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Delete Recurring (6 appearances in a 52-episode run) small role in Thunderstone tv show, 2nd billing in Under Jakob's Ladder, relatively small film are the subject's high-water marks. This person does not appear to meet our notability requirements – one brief mention is all I've been able to find in modern sources. The page was created by globally-locked long-term nuisance editor Alec Smithson, who was/is obsessed with people named "Natoli". Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:19, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Comment I haven't come across Alec Smithson's other stuff, but this also has an article in the Portuguese version of Wikipedia. That one seems very well-sourced. I think this is probably notable but most sources will not be in the English language. MartinJones (talk) 12:08, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Good catch, MartinJones, that's Alec Smithson for certain (note the Telecom Italia IP address)! But to be doubly sure, pinging Voceditenore – who is also familiar with this editor – for a second opinion. However well-sourced that page may look at first sight, you'll note that even with all the duplicated references and general bluster and obfuscation, there's exactly one reference there that's less than about 150 years old – the same Domenico Ligresti book that's the only ref in the stub I wrote here. I read Italian without difficulty, by the way, and have searched for sources in that language. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:48, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Delete entirely. This is not an established term in philately or investment as far as I am aware and Philatelic investment already covers the topic well. Philafrenzy (talk) 14:07, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Delete Original research about a topic that has no coverage by that name, at least as far as Google can tell. There isn't even any specific and intelligible information in the article. Fails WP:N, and there isn't any point in a redirect to anything because, well, again, Google. This isn't a phrase people are like to be searching for. Largoplazo (talk) 16:23, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Not a clearly notable comedy / drama web-series. I stopped short of deleting per WP:CSD#A7 because there were passing mentions to notable people in one section (albeit unsourced). • Delete this is just a small and very recent web series which has just finished its kickstarter goal of ~5000$. All the sources in the article are non RS from social media or the webpage of the series/its director. They do some name-dropping, but its based on facebook likes or not sourced at all. I tried to locate some more sources which talk about it, but I couldn't come up with anything; just a lot of promotional social media noise from the producers of the series. It looks like some kind of film student/graduate work, judging from the biography of the director (can be read on IMDB), who seem to be very good in media marketing. Also neither the director nor the other associated people (actors etc.) are or have achieved anything notable to date. This series fails the specific WP:NFO in all points. With the complete lack of reliable sources it also fails WP:GNG. The article should therefore be deleted. I also think its a promotion piece. The creator of the article has the name "Madelberg" -> Madelberg Media is a "distributor" of this series according to imdb (link). Dead Mary (talk) 12:04, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Delete Good luck to them, but when they need to use Kickstarter and Facebook as sources, you know there's a problem. Maybe it'll become notable (I doubt it) but it fails for now. MartinJones (talk) 12:15, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Comment I'm unsure why you wish to delete this. Do we delete pages just because they are potentially (unproven) paid editing, or from a probable sockpuppet? What are your objections to this person being notable - even with the concerns raised above, we should re-write or improve rather than delete if he is notable, unless there is a policy I haven't read before on this. MartinJones (talk) 12:17, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

DENY and BURDEN are a big part of these AfDs (and this is from an editor advertising themselves on Facebook, after all, with a prolific list of already-blocked socks).
But this person is supposedly notable as CEO of Netsol - we don't have an article on Netsol, and when we had a mere redirect on it, even that got deleted. This biog article is now half the size it was, after some well-overblown claims were removed (Netsol might meet CMMI 5, but they aren't the only people to do so - nor is it even clear why CMMI, a decades old standard, even conveys that much notability for a company these days. It's like describing a new startup as the finest of today's buggy whip makers) So they still have to make the case that this meets BLPN, and under this pile of promotion, I'm not seeing it. Andy Dingley (talk) 12:35, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for expanding on your reasons, Andy. I've looked extensively for sources, and although I may be missing some which are not in English, I cannot find evidence that this man crosses the threshold of notability. Delete. MartinJones (talk) 13:23, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Someone please correct me if I am wrong here, but isn't this a case of notability being inherited? The film for which he was producer was nominated for a national award— that makes the film notable, but the producer? (the associate producer? The editor? The director? The gaffer? etc.?). A google search turns up twitter, facebook, IMDb, LinkedIn, various directory listings, photographs of him, and ample discussion of the film, but I am not finding discussion of him directly. I prodded it with the following rationale: "The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. " It was deprodded by User:DGG with the following rationale "might pass WP:PROF or WP:aUTHOR". Sadly, I cannot find any sources to show that this is the case. He is a moderately successful architect, but I don't think he is encyclopedic (he didn't win the Honorary SARP Award yet), for WP:PROF this is not looking promising ([1]), and as for WP:AUTHOR, he has published several books, but I couldn't find any reviews or indication of impact. Article deleted after expired PROD in July 2016. PROD reason was "Non-notable new journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG." Albeit slightly less new now (the journal was established in 2015), the only difference with the previous version of the article is that the journal is now included in DOAJ, which is not a selective database in the sense of NJournals. Therefore, PROD reason still stands, hence: Delete. Randykitty (talk) 09:15, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Article as a standalone isn't notable and should be deleted and/or merged with the main Crunchyroll article. Most of the sources link directly to the Award website, which raises some promotional concerns too. Lord Roem ~ (talk) 06:06, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

I don't mind merging this article with the Crunchyroll page. As for sources, the problem is that they are few sources for the awards outside of Crunchyroll itself. ISD (talk) 07:53, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

An unremarkable businessman. Known as a serial entrepreneur and his "immigrant achieves success" human interest story.

The article went through multiple AfDs, the latest closing as "no consensus". (Prior results had been "no consensus" & "delete", then recreated via WP:DR, hence another AfD since). Since then, maintaining neutrality of this article has been a struggle, as evidenced by the discussions on Talk page.

The article recently went through a series of promotional edits, and now contains self-cited trivia such as:

  • Today, according to SiteLock's website, their software is the only web security solution to offer complete, cloud-based website protection.[2]

  • Speedy Keep It’s no surprise that K.e.coffman is the one nominating this article for deletion after SwisterTwister, whom I believe is the former editor’s meatpuppet fails when he tried to do the exact same thing. The Editor Interaction Analyzer shows that both of these individuals edit within one minute of each other on the same article, sometimes just 2 seconds apart! This evidence strongly suggests offsite collaboration between the two. Faithful editors have repeatedly tried to add sources, such as articles by Forbes and Entrepreneur, to the article, but both of these characters magically show up together and collectively oppose such efforts. This WP:GAMING of Wikipedia needs to stop. This is an encyclopaedia, not a personal playground. Eliko007 (talk) 03:34, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Let's not turn this discussion into personal attacks, shall we? To report editor behaviour issues, please use WP:ANI, instead of casting aspersions here. K.e.coffman (talk) 03:56, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment - Not only is this not the proper venue for these allegations, they are baseless as the Editor Interaction Analyzer clearly shows. The Editor Interaction Tool only indicates the least amount of time between edits, not the first edit or when they !voted which would be indicator of possible collusion between editors. One actually needs to look at the interactions to determine this such as
(here [2] !votes 4 days apart - 1 minute interaction was after they !voted),
(here [3] !votes 9 days apart - 1 minute interaction was after they !voted) and
(here [4] !votes 6 days apart - 2 minute interaction was after they !voted).
Both SwisterTwister (16,219 AFD's) and K.e.coffman (3,014 AFD's) are tireless and valuable participants at AFD's and it is not unusual, in fact, it is common that they will, from time to time, vote at the same AFD's as I, and several of the other editors at this discussion have. Lastly, in the last week K.e.coffman has participated in over 30 AFD's and this is the only one of those that SwisterTwister has participated in. CBS527Talk 16:07, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Weak delete. I am not impressed by the Enterpreneur content, which is reprinted in Today.com. I see two decent refs here: BI at [5] and Forbes cited above. The Forbes one is essentially a curated blog. The BI piece is best, and I can't say anything bad about it. I can't see how the article looked when I prodded/AfD it (it got deleted at 2nd AFD). This one, nonetheless, still seems on the wrong side of being notable. I don't think this individual meets GNG. --Hanyangprofessor2 (talk) 04:16, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment --- I would note that the above Keep voter has repeatedly removed the notability tag from the article: diff1 & diff2. The latter one was the editor's 6th edit since opening an account. K.e.coffman (talk) 04:28, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Nice of you to point that out. Are you forgetting to point out that you've edit warred to re-instate the tag (round 1, round 2, round 3) despite the fact that multiple editors have pointed out that the article was improved so that it falls within Wikipedia guidelines? Shall I provide an Editor Interaction Analyzer link for the third editor who helped you to do this (Lemongirl942)? I'll hold off on that, for now at least. However, I will point out that you blanked most of the article before nominating it for deletion. And btw, none of those were personal attacks. I simply provided diffs to point out evidence of your behaviour on the article. Nothing wrong with that right? We'll let the rest of the jury decide based on your actions. I'm putting an end to the WP:GAMING that's been going on here. Eliko007 (talk) 01:14, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Keep The article is sourced (with a few substantial sources - and additional fluff), and a quick source check shows more sources. I agree the article itself is promotional - stub it down, keeping the noteworthy sources.Icewhiz (talk) 06:14, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Keep The article itself is very poor, although a quick google search to me reveals enough sources to pass WP:GNG, although admittedly not hugely. It's a borderline one, but stub the article down to some information taken from reliable sources and remove the promotional material PenaltyCard (talk) 10:42, 3 April 2017 (UTC) PenaltyCard (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
  • Keep As a former professional in the hosting technology space, my knowledge of Mr. Gorny's professional accomplishments lead me to believe he is far from simply being "an unremarkable businessman" and a "human interest story". In previous versions of his page, there was a lot of promotional content, and it is my understanding of Wikipedia guidelines that the history of the page likely resulted in the first several rounds of AfD nominations. The article has much of the promotional content that is not useful or cited now removed, and it has been expanded with greater detail and several substantial sources verifying his notability. If more talk needs to be had about how to improve the content on the page, that should be had here (Talk:Tomas Gorny). An AfD, however, is a bit of an extreme response to the page in my view. JonathanBentz (talk) 13:32, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
How is this satisfying any of our set policies such as WP:What Wikipedia is not? Simply claims that he "must be notable" is not the same thing as actually showing the necessary notability. SwisterTwister talk 17:35, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Keep The subject is the founder of four major companies and the article is substantiated with a number of citations, thus establishing its notability. Business Insider and other sources found in the article, such as the Chicago Tribune, are citations that have wide repute in the United States (the purported country of orign where Tomas Gorny does business). Bmbaker88 (talk) 23:13, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Chicago Tribune source is not really about Gorny. Instead, it's about a company called Double Robotics. Sample:
  • Tomas Gorny, co-founder and CEO of Nextiva, a cloud-based phone-service provider in Scottsdale, Ariz., spends half his time traveling. But even when he’s out of the office, he’s in, in the form of a telepresence robot from Double Robotics. Dubbed Double TG, it’s an endearingly awkward union of iPad, selfie stick, Skype, and Segway. Says Gorny: “One of the most effective ways to feel like I’m in the room is by using my robot.”
That's the extend of coverage on Gorny in the article; his name does not appear again. Such sources are not sufficient for establishing notability. K.e.coffman (talk) 23:29, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

K.e.coffman (talk) 23:29, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Comment - The combined edit count of all 5 keep !voters is just over 1000. Edit count surely isn't proportional to quality/importance, and has limited value, but when it's that extreme something unpleasant is typically afoot. People who have only ever made a couple hundred edits don't typically stumble across AfD, and often appear because of an agenda (one or more of WP:PAID, WP:MEAT, WP:CANVASS, WP:SOCK, etc.). Not all the time, obviously, but it's cause to stop and smell the meat-scented roses when going to close a discussion that appears to lean a certain way. I've only done a cursory evaluation of the sources thus far, so am not yet !voting. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 22:56, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Delete. remains basically promotional after many tries at improvement, including multiple AfDs. I count that as hopeless. If someone without COI wants to start over again, it can be attempted in Draft space. DGG ( talk ) 02:44, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Keep' Tomas Gorny alone gets 8,590 Google hits, not to mention the amount of Google hits that his companies receive. A cursory look at the sources used in the article shows that Tomas Gorny does have notability, at least that sufficient to warrant the existence of an article her. Meatpuppetry issues raised by User:Eliko007 and User:Rhododendrites should be taken into account by the closing admin and reports should be filed at WP:RfCU if necessary.--Jobas (talk) 13:39, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Which of this will actually help? Because what I see there is a clear promotional primary or secondary press releases or notices, not independent coverage needed here. SwisterTwister talk 17:35, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Strong Keep and, in fact, this AfD shouldn't have even been created. The nomination presents 3 points:
  1. The subject is unremarkable (ie does not meet WP:GNG)
  2. There were multiple AfDs
  3. The article does not meet WP:NPOV
2 and 3 are not reasons for deletion. For #1, I can prove that the subject meets WP:GNG. In the Summer of 2016, the article was re-created by me and presented to AfC. The namespace was salted at the time. User:KGirlTrucker81 was the person who reviewed the AfC. She deemed that the subject meet WP:GNG. She then presented it to Deletion_review for un-salting, where it was voted upon by the admins -- User:K.e.coffman was not present at that debate. On 17 September 2016, the admins voted that there were enough reliable sources to meet WP:GNG (visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2016_September_17 to read both sides of the argument -- the arguments in that thread overlaps with the arguments in this thread ). Because this debate happened before in the past and because it was deemed that Tomas Gorny meet WP:GNG, we know that Tomas Gorny meets WP:GNG today. Tomas Gorny did not lose any notability between the 18th September 2016 and today. The result must be keep. CerealKillerYum (talk) 15:15, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Yes, multiple AfDs that themselves show either doubts the subject was in fact significant or notable, and because of the repeated promotionalism, it alone violates policy WP:What Wikipedia is not, especially since a handful of these have been clear-label paid users, another policy violation. Together or alone, these are enough to supersede any chances because it violates our necessary considerations. The fact the promotional changes never paid attention to our policies about this is a violation alone, not that "he's still notable". Simply because it was accepted at AfC is not a lifeline at all, since AfD exists for exactly that, article examination. SwisterTwister talk 17:35, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • I contend that the argument for keep by editor CerealKillerYum is faulty, because of another AfD that happened in November 2016, two months after the DR discussion. This latest AfD closed as "No consensus", which means that there's currently no consensus that this topic is notable. Hence it's reasonable to bring the topic back to AfD for further community discussion. K.e.coffman (talk) 18:10, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • KGirlTrucker81 It was improved repeatedly before, but as the history shows, the promotionalism has explosively continued. How is this a policy-based Keep in considerations to these promotional contributions? 3 previous AfDs also claimed "Let's fix it" yet with nothing. SwisterTwister talk 17:35, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Delete by all means as the main policies here at WP:What Wikipedia is not and WP:Paid, considering the history and also of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nextiva (3rd nomination) and Draft:Nextiva, both with clear promotional changes and users, including some of them now come-and-go accounts so WP:Sockpuppetry likely applies there. These three are main policies of which we use every day here, especially in company or business articles, so this is a no exception. We allow time for improvements when there's confirmed changes, not when WP:THEREMUSTBE SOURCES or WP:ITSNOTABLE. As mentioned, if someone ever wants an article, it's best to restart it with pre-reviewed changes, especially if there's chances of violating our paid-user policy. Although there are claims of "fixing" as shown here, the next page actually then shows there's been nothing but the previous old AfD-material, thus showing any new claims of supposed improvements are stalling, not beneficial to an encyclopedia. In fact, the current article still has the same elements of advertising as shown by his largest section advertised "Business" followed by "PR awards", which is (as shown by WP:GNG), not ever a convincing factor. Simply because a Wikipedian started this article is not an entire defense in our policies, since there's the obvious fact of the company's article not only being deleted, but it was campaigned by several COI people there. SwisterTwister talk 17:35, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
  • DELETE IT. This article doesn't know if its a personal résumé or a product brochure, which one does wiki allow? Better idea, send it to Monster.com where they actually host this kind of material. Carter2020 Carter2020 (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
    • Comment - User:Carter2020 Wikipedia yearns to be the collection of all human knowledge. In that quest, there is an existing guide on how to do basic things like cast your suggestions here from as simple a task as stating delete or keep and there is no need to shout while at it.
      • Wikipedia absolutely does not yearn to be the collection of ALL human knowledge. I saw a rule against trivia. I saw a rule against promotion. I saw a rule against libel and disparagement of people. I saw a rule against being a dictionary. I saw many other exemptions from the collection of all human knowledge, and this online résumé for Gorny is one of them. Carter2020
  • Keep - Having profoundly tracked the above discussions let me weigh in. The motivation for deletion is stated as It seems near impossible to get the article to an NPOV state; hence this nomination due to the recent edits made to the article. Last I checked this is not a valid reason for deletion at the AFD policy. Instead of this AFD the policy states that before an AFD, toning down the article to address promo or advertising should be considered which the nom didn’t attempt. Given this I have gone ahead and reset the article to a state where users seemed mollified with the state of the article which is a tenet of just how Wikipedia works. There is also a myriad of additional meatpuppet assertions with no evidence whatsoever and also allegations about WP:paid, sockpuppeting yet all with no tinge of corroboration. This AFD has attracted a few voices that are clearly suspect but that belongs in another forum. I would also suggest that if any changes are desired by anyone to this article they should be posted on the talk page for debate before they are posted into the main article like there was a prosperous confabulation about including certain sources or not which left everyone contented. Wikipedia has tools like locking articles if it is deterring edits from unexperienced users who are out to vandalize articles. TushiTalk To Me 07:14, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Yes, NPOV issues usually are not a valid reason for deletion at an AFD but notability is a valid reason which the NOM also stated and is being discussed by editors on both sides of this discussion. CBS527Talk 21:07, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Keep: PassesWP:GNG. In my opinion, SwisterTwister’s approach here is more destructive than constructive, and I know this has been mentioned in the past. Did anybody bother to check online about subject’s notability? The article was published by a confirmed contributor, and has been voted Keep by several senior editors and admins in the previous AfDs. We are now at the 4th nomination, and will go on to subsequent ones until the nominators get what they want. This is simply abuse and not the way AfD was intended. The subject easily meets WP:GNG, and that’s enough reason to keep the article. I’m opting to remain anonymous here to avoid any subsequent drama, just wanted to assist in the discussion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.27.194.58 (talk) 11:41, 6 April 2017 (UTC) 88.27.194.58 (talk) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.

  • Keep: What I see is the same group of editors attempting to prevent the existence of an otherwise WP:COMMONSENSE notable article. A few of the editors commenting here also appeared at the article about Nextiva, one of the companies run by Gorny and tried to prevent its creation, despite it having close to 30 references. • comment there is an npov problem here. Specigically regarfing the bombed facilities use for additional functions such as a hq bunker. Hospitals contain air shelters, power generation facilities, and other infrastructure coupled with some pesumed immunity from attack. So while it is hard to dispute hospitals were bombed, the actual additional uses of the hospitals are vey much in dispute. Referencing regime, Iranian and Russian sources? Yours is a great idea, and I say it without irony. However the basic tenet of WP is that only reliable sources should be relied upon (sounds like a tautology, but wait till the next sentence). This beggars the question "reliable for whom"? The practical answer is "for most WP editors", who share a certain set of beliefs and stereotypes. Now, those shared beliefs are actually what makes consensus on what constitutes a reliable source possible. Iran, according to "reliable" sources, is a rogue state, therefore Iranian sources are unreliable. Same for Russian sources and bad guy Putin. WP could not work otherwise. No consensus → no reliable sources → no WP. 84.73.134.206 (talk) 11:33, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Essentially every reference either in the article or listed on the talk page is a mere mention--sometimes just a labelled illustration, sometimes a paragraph, usually more about the celebrity carrying the designer's bag than about the designer. A few are pr-interviews. I'm aware there is less distinction between PR and genuine coverage in fashion than in most fields of life, but this is an example of particularly weak sourcing. The article is furthermore gushy prose. Searches find absolutely no RS that verify either the content of the article or the notability of this person. I fear some elements may be fabricated. The article contains seven "sources," none of which help verify the main elements of article. #1 and #2 do not even mention the individual. Three does, but it is not an independent RS and only might confirm he is vice principal of some business college in Nepal. Source 4 to 7 are odd in that they are about subjects totally irrelevant to the individual in question and seem tacked on: #4 is about the architecture of the Diet Building; #5 is about changes in government structure in Japan in the 2000s; #6 is a book about recent Japanese documentary; and #7 is actually a fiction film based on Yukio Mishima. None help us understand how he is supposedly "one of the leaders in the field of academia within the Anglican community." Note that on the talk page, the editor who started the page admitted he/she is an employee of this person. There are thus serious WP:COI issues. Clearly fails WP:GNG. Should be speedily deleted, but an editor declined CSD. Michitaro (talk) 03:31, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

A list article that contains one entry. For full disclosure, I've edited the article to remove those entries that have been redirected (see prior version. The blue linked articles, except one, have been redirected to a list. Per the recent discussion (Redirect proposal for Knight's Cross winners), it's highly unlikely that the redirected subject would be considered notable in the future and the list is not needed.

The article was created by the same editor who created about 500 articles on the members of the Waffen-SS, and the cross caterigorisation of "Knight's Cross winner by [X] category" strikes me as excessive. The list was created in 2008, at a time when the Knight's Cross recipients were presumed by default to be notable. This has changed recently, so both the individual articles created by the editor in question, along with the lists, are no longer encyclopedically relevant. For a recent AfD on a related list, please see:

A previous AfD on this article closed as no consensus, with the closing statement noting that the OR issues could be fixed. Almost seven years later, the problems are still there:

  • The article uses a mix of ethnicity categories where they are available (e.g. Pakistani, Black, Indian), but where groups are subsumed into larger categories (e.g. Other White), it switches to using country of birth, which isn't the same as ethnicity.
  • Different parts of the article use different sources for their statistics. Some are official statistics, others estimates, and different sources refer to different time periods.
  • "Large", "location" and "ethnic minority" are not consistently defined. Is "large" to be judged in absolute terms? If so, the answer is "London". If it's defined in percentage terms, then what counts as a location? A parish, a settlement, a county, a region?

The whole article is an OR mess, and given that no one has shown any interest in fixing it in many years, I think it would be better to put the article out of its misery. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:50, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Delete or redirect to Foreign-born population of the United Kingdom. I have thought about this for a while. Initially it appeared to me to be a legitimate list, but on examining the sources it turns out that the list is mainly derived from a user generated list from the Office for National Statistics, which will do user-generated lists on request. You can get "English regions cross-referenced with age, ethnicity, household type (Jan to Dec 2014), employment status, NS-SEC, health conditions and local authorities for Jan to Dec 2015" or whatever else takes your fancy. As the nominator says, there are issues surrounding the structure of the list as it is ill-defined. The notion of what is "large" is not clear, and various from 17% to 2% to "significant" where the percentage seems to fall so low it can't be sensibly given. So there is no precise criteria from which to structure the list. The "ethnic minorities" are exclusively by country, so we don't have race, colour, language, or religion, simply countries of origin; and even then the source data is so unclear, we don't know if it is first or subsequent generation immigration. However, there is a sense that there is a useful idea behind the list, just that this is not the way to go about it. Foreign-born population of the United Kingdom does pretty much the same thing, but in a much more neutral and informative manner. There are links from that article to each ethnicity, such as British Chinese which has sections on where British Chinese live, such as British_Chinese#Community and British_Chinese#Largest_urban_Chinese_communities. Given that we already have the information, but in more more organised, detailed, and authoritative form, where the information is also dealt with in context, I am not seeing the value of keeping this list with its current problems. If the list were newly created I would say give it a chance, but as it was seen as problematic seven years ago, and has not improved in that time, I think deleting it or redirecting the title (and perhaps keeping anything of use) is the best way to go. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:40, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
Well, I say authoritative, but the source for British_Chinese#Largest_urban_Chinese_communities turns out, again, to be user generated from the Office for National Statistics, albeit from a narrower focus. I think it would be better in these cases for us to be using reliable independent sources. If there is a genuine interest in the "Largest_urban_Chinese_communities" there would be a reliable source publishing the information themselves from the Office for National Statistics. We should not be generating and publishing such statistics ourselves as that runs foul of OR. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:48, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Delete: It's a shame, as it's a valid topic for an article, but the sources don't appear to be available to make one that isn't riddled with OR / synthesis. Jellyman (talk) 10:06, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

The sport is one of fourteen games being undertaken by twenty four teams from many countries in the Island Games. I do not see that archery is more, or less, important than any of the other games in the competition. Wikipedia articles exist for all the games since 1985 with many sub articles for the various sports in the bi-annual games. The games attract 3,000 competitors. It is not a minor event. This page is set up pending the public announcements of the teams and events and the competition itself in June. Until then, the sources are limited, once the games are in progress, there will be many sources in different countries and in many languages to link to these games. Delete. WP:BLP of a musician, who has a potentially valid claim of notability per WP:NMUSIC (award nomination) but is completely failing to reliably source it. The only "source" here is a WP:ROUTINE concert listing which fails to verify the notability claim, and I can't find any evidence of real media coverage about him on either Google or ProQuest. As always, NMUSIC does not grant an article topic a free pass just because passage of a criterion has been claimed; it is passed only when the claim to passage is reliably sourced to media coverage about the subject. Note that first discussion was conducted in 2006, a time when just the claim itself was enough and we were a lot looser about how well it actually had to be sourced than we are now, so the fact that it was kept at that time is not permanently binding if the article fails to meet our current standards. Agnello is a published author with a major agency whatever his background may be. His bookcover carries "Cousin Vinnie" as the authors name and anyone searching for him from the book would be looking for that, not 'the Stripper King' no matter how appealing that might be to some. Cited 'copyright' infringements have been removed, links have been added and we'd like this project to move forward. Any reasonable changes needed will be made but Let us see a list of said violations please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Panamamac (talkcontribs) 14:37, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for continuing the discussion about this man's journey from lurid stripper to published author. This truly American tale is far from over, and his fans have been asking him, on his recent book tour much of which was picked up by the faith oriented media and well received, why he had no Wiki page.
As we said before if it is matter of content or formatting, adjustments can be made. His 2nd book 'the Vengeance of the Manager is currently available on Amazon with another in work. Interest in the movie rights for Devil's Glove has been shown as well.

I really don't need to be more specific - it's only a stub article, and the entire thing reads like a PR-based entry in a business directory. It's nothing more than routine coverage, when Wikipedia is meant to be an encyclopaedia. This is the problem with creating business articles from the Requested Articles process - people tend to focus on PR-type sources like Bloomberg's business listing section instead and it shows. Exemplo347 (talk) 00:41, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

  • I think (and this is just my opinion so I look forward to hearing from other contributors) that the main question is whether or not there is enough coverage to warrant a separate article outside of the main article on the artist. Looking through the sources that you have provided, there are very good. The "Rolling Stone" and "AllMusic" articles provide a good start for a "Reception" section and some information on the songs to put some information on the song's composition. The Relix source is not as good; it has some good information, but overall the album only has a brief mention in that source. I am assuming the Zappa source would be used to supply the production and recording information about the album (akin to liner notes). I am definitely seeing your side of the argument as these sources do point to something, but I am still not 100% convinced about the subject's notability from three additional sources. If possible, it would be appreciated if you track more down. With the additions of these sources, I am not 100% either way so I will just strike my comment until I hear from other more experienced users about this issue. Aoba47 (talk) 23:46, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
  • I think that having an AllMusic review as well as a write-up in Rolling Stone should be good enough for establishing that an album is notable. The Relix article is more for giving some context for the production. But for whatever it's worth, here are two pretty nice essays that I haven't added to the article as references. They probably "don't count", because they're published on blogging sites. Plain and Fancy; The Resentment Listener Mudwater (Talk) 00:18, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Keep. I'm new here, so I don't know the exact rules about the deletion of articles. However, I do see a definition in this ON/OFF book which is as a PHD thesis a scientific piece of work and a good summary of the current debate.[1] Further, it's mentioned in the DIE ZEIT article[2] (it's the German NYT) which did apparently run as the main article of the issue. Even it's not mentioned widely over the web, it's mentioned by very reliable sources. Can concepts become part of Wikipedia only once they are regularly used? Mljakubowski (talk) 09:47, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
    • @Mljakubowski: I cannot speak for the German newspaper usage, but the book you found does indeed define it (in the future rather than commercial bookseller please link to page view on Google Books if possible, like this: Sarah Genner (3 January 2017). ON/OFF: Risks and Rewards of the Anytime-Anywhere Internet. vdf Hochschulverlag AG. pp. 163–. ISBN 978-3-7281-3799-9. ). The source of their definition seems to be [12], a German language document on whose reliability again I cannot comment. That's a good start, but please read WP:NEO and WP:GNG. For new terms we need more than 1-2 sources, a more widespread use would help. If you can show this term used in let's say 5 or so more reliable sources, preferably English (so I can read them), I'd be ready to change my vote to keep. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:43, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Not a notable company. It generates a little bit of commentary in trade press, but nothing more. The article rehashes the company's BS in a very close paraphrase, "employs investments that synthesize bottom-up credit analysis". Cabayi (talk) 10:23, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

Part of an apparent promotional campaign. The claim of 52 publications sounded impressive, until I actually looked. She has written one book, co-chaired one conference, and written a dozen of so technical reports mostly for the Center for Global Development , (itself the subject of an exceptionally spammy and congratulatory article which will need to be looked at. )These reports are typically found in only two or three libraries, and are usually under 100 pages. I listed a few of them. The other publication are magazine articles.

The other references are either her own works, her own organization's work, or her own blurbs for various conferences and organization, DGG ( talk ) 08:47, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

But she is not an academic. Her notability, such as it is , is as an organizer. Public health is not a low cited field. Anyway, it's not h index that matters but the distribution of citation h=17 can mean 17 items with 17 citations each, or 1item with 500 and 16 items with 16 each. Here, she has no item with over 100 citations, and in biomedical sciences, that's the effective minimum standard. DGG ( talk ) 00:38, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Just-prior AfD was just "procedurally closed" due to disruptive SOCKing by Sdc3000/SThompson/Imalawyer. Am re-listing so that people who !voted in good faith are not too far from the work and thinking they did last time. My rationale for !voting to delete was: this is marginal. I was heading toward keep because she has published a lot of books but then I saw that they all appear to be self-published, on Amazon's CreateSpace or through her self-publishing imprint, Lonely Mind books. If you take those away, as we should, you are not left with much. I am going to have to say delete for now. This may be a WP:TOOSOON thing. Jytdog (talk) 05:55, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Keep. I understand why this re-nomination needed to take place, but the prior discussion seemed headed toward a "no consensus" close (especially if you ignore the 'delete' votes from the now-blocked users) and perhaps we'll end up in the same place again. Here, I'll just re-post the relevant portion of my previous recommendation.
Although this case is more "borderline" than many, I can see some notability coming from the niche publications. There's nothing suspect about that -- people who operate in specialised areas can be expected to derive their coverage from specialty publications. That's true for many of the academics who have articles here. And it is certainly true for the hundreds upon hundreds of sports figures whose articles are sourced solely to an on-line sports database (and it is difficult to imagine anything more "niche" than that). I also see some notability coming from the BBC interview. Although we tend to downplay the significance of interviews in our notability discussions, the fact remains that the BBC does not have an unlimited amount of air time and that some editorial discretion went into the decision to devote some of that time to the subject.

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. First AfD 10 years ago closed as keep because geek editors who commented were fan of Atari, through one noted that sources are about the products, not company, but the consensus was that WP:THEREMUSTBESOURCES. Second AfD closed as no consensus since no-one except the nominator, User:Alpha Quadrant, voted. Since nobody can find sources for notability for the company, and few articles mentioning it name in passsing and reviewing its products don't establish it, here we go again. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:28, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Keep Products reviewed in various Atari magazines, some of these reviews are even referenced in the article. It is obvious there are enough reliable sources to make stand-alone articles for each product, but it is more convenient for our readers to keep them all under one company article. I just noticed that the article had previously been nominated for deletion in 2015. Tokyogirl79 cleaned it up at that time, but even after that cleanup the only source for the prose of the article was the company's own website. By now the article is in no better shape, arguably worse. Article about a government agency, which basically just paraphrases its own mission statement in bullet points and fails to include any real substance (or even much actual prose beyond the base statement that it exists), and which cites no reliable source coverage about the agency to get it over WP:ORGDEPTH. The only "reference" present here at all, in fact, is the external link to its own website. WP:BLP of a rapper, with no strong claim to passing WP:NMUSIC and no evidence of reliable source coverage in media. Pretty much right across the board, the referencing here is to unacceptable primary sources, like his own Facebook and Instagram and Soundcloud accounts, or WP:BLOGS that cannot carry notability -- and the one thing here that's even marginally closer to an acceptable source than anything else is, Buzzfeed, is to the user-generated "community" section of Buzzfeed and not to content written by any actual employee of Buzzfeed. (Which is, obviously, not to say that Buzzfeed could actually carry a GNG claim all by itself at the best of times, but Buzzfeed Community counts for even less than Buzzfeed proper.) As always, Wikipedia is not a free publicity platform on which any musician is entitled to have an article just because he exists -- he must be the subject of reliable source coverage in media, which verifies passage of a specific notability criterion, for an article to become earned. • The article doesn't read like an advertisement, whether you're right or not about the article creator's intent. He's clearly a notable painter, loosely speaking: whether he is by our definition of the term...? His work is certainly known and exhibited and written about. The weeklies SF Gate and OC Weekly that are on the article aren't bad -- they're not solely devoted to him but they're much more than passing mentions. And I wonder if some of those exhibitions -- we have solo, group, curated, public -- don't combine to meet WP:NARTIST: "has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition." Combining the coverage that we do have with all his exhibitions, I'd say weak keep. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:48, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

This page is significant and should be in wikipedia. Roy has worked with National Award Winning Singer Rupankar Bagchi who is very much famous public figure in West Bengal. He worked with Gopika Goswami who has done playback in many highly popular bengali films such as Jamai 420, Shororipu, Not a Dirty Film, Sathiya. Sundeep Gosswami (who has sung Dil Kyun on Roy's compostion) has worked singer and music director as Sundeep-Surya (previously was known as Sandeep-Surya) duo in Bollywood movies such as Bhindi Baazaar Inc., Blue Mountains (2017 film) and Suraj Jagan, Roop Kumar Rathod, Sadhana Sargam, Tochi Raina have sung on his composition. Roy also worked as painter in Tui Bolle Project ( an Indo- Bangladeshi relationship project) with one of the top artist of Bangladesh Shayan Chowdhury Arnob.Jiami (talk) 18:07, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

@Jiami: Notability is not inherited. A person who is the subject of an article has to be notable in their own, and I can see no evidence that Jayanta Roy is. GSS (talk|c|em) 13:45, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
@GSS-1987: Sir, Roy has been referred several times in Bangladeshi newspapers for Tui Bolle project in many renowned Bangladeshi newspapapers as it can derived from online sources. Tui Bolle project is very much significant in the sense that it has been done to enhance Indo-Bangladesh cultural relations in that atmosphere where Indian music is banned in Bangladesh. Its also a fact of significance/notability for Roy being mentioned in a lot of Bangladeshi National newspapers for that project where other persons in that project (like musicians who played for that and others involved in song production) except composer and lyricist were mentioned nowhere (so far links I have had from internet search).Roy has been covered multiple times in West Bengal state level newspapers and regional ones and also televison channels whose onlie links expire in few days and a number of them don't have online links, so it will remain as a fact of ambiguity from the view of wiki until any user as well as me can't give further online sources and I or any other user can give reference of online links of news coverage in recent future when any online link of his next coverage will generate on net or will be covered in English newspapers whose links don't expire. I have come on wiki to be an wikipidean editor and so I made the article short rather than using any info from the offline newspapers where from I read many about Roy Sir. So, its my request to you is to keep the page making it recommended for improvement following rule of not deleting in case of doubt. Please go for inclusionism. Jiami (talk) 14:28, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
As I said above Notability is not inherited. To have a Wikipedia article, the subject must receive significant coverage in reliable, independent sources to demonstrate it's notability and the available sources are either unreliable or trivial passing mentions. Nothing I've seen suggests that this person meets GNG and I don't see any indication of passing WP:COMPOSER. GSS (talk|c|em) 05:49, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
@GSS-1987: What I can say about this, the sources are reliable enough. An article can be made for a single event too if the event is significant and there are multiple coverages of event along with the person's role WP:BIO1E. Anyways, I shall agree with any decision you would take. Regards. Jiami (talk) 07:38, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

This magazine is quite notable and is similar in circulatin and content to The Northeast Today, in fact the page of Eclectic Northeast Magazine was not so much advertising as The Northeast Today. It is suspected that people against the magazine are asking for its deletion. This page should be up and more links. Kangla Online, the leading newspaper of a state in Assam : Manipur, has a source on Eclectic - <ref>http://kanglaonline.com/2015/11/eclectic-northeast-celebrates-its-9th-anniversary/ . Even Chief minister of Assam, Mary Kom released the magazine http://www.manipur.org/news/2012/11/19/chief-minister-of-assam-shri-tarun-gogoi-and-olympic-champion-m-c-mary-kom-releases-eclectic-northeast-magazine/ Northeast India has a huge but neglected population. Mainstream media doesn't cover this are so much and deletion of an important magazine entry from wikipedia from the region should not be allowed. There is no reference of blatant advertising like as in The Northeast today. Notability: The above picture shows that a 15 year reigning Chief Minister of a state, his son and also an Olympic Silver Medalist is launching the magazine and still it is being considered Non-Notable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gauravjaina (talkcontribs) 08:07, 27 March 2017 (UTC) Note to closing admin: Gauravjaina (talkcontribs) appears to have a close connection with the subject of the article being discussed.

This band does not meet the criteria for WP:BAND. There is one write-up about an upcoming event in "Media in Canada". A public relations expert used them as an example of good marketing in his book. I found three press releases, [19], [20] and [21]. The claim about "official band of Canadian podcasters' has been copied from the third of these into the Jesse Kohl article and then into the Wikipedia article, so there's no independent reference. I was unable to find any independent published reviews of the contents their recordings, their blog, their podcast or their Second Life "simulcast", or reports of any performances. —Anne Delong (talk) 04:37, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Keep Hi, I am a founding member of the band Uncle Seth, and wanted to respond.
While much of our original press coverage is no longer available online, our Second Life simulcast was covered in this Toronto Star article which still lives at archive.org. Parts of one of our Second Life concerts were shown on Global National News in Canada but unfortunately the original video is no longer availible.
National coverage of our podcasting and Second Life did appear on CBC Radio as mentioned here and here (the second of which includes the 'offical band of Canadian podcasting' reference from broadcaster Tod Maffin) but again unfortunately the original audio is no longer availible.
Evidence of radio airplay and additional media coverage throughout Canada have also vanished, but I do believe Uncle Seth was at least in some small ways a pioneering band in terms of our efforts to connect with fans online, and I would appreciate your consideration in keeping this article alive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmoonah (talkcontribs) 00:12, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
Jmoonah, thanks for finding that Toronto Star item; I have added it to the article. The link to the band's blog can't be used, but it does give a timeframe for the "Bandwidth" report; the promotional blurb for the two previous shows say that one was to be about unusual promotion and the other was to be about feuds between bands. Recordings of these broadcasts likely still exist somewhere, but can't be cited unless we know what was in them. The other link appears to be to a personal blog; I'm not sure that comments there are of encyclopedic importance. The "evidence of additional media coverage" you mention may not be on line, but if you still have, for example, newspaper clippings for which you can identify the name of the paper, and the date the item appeared, text written by the journalist (not quotes or promotion from the band members) can be used to support the article.—Anne Delong (talk) 14:16, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Delete He is some kind of director for the band Twenty One Pilots. Its not quite sure what is his role is, but he made some of their videos. The gist is, apart from his connection to the band there is nothing noteworthy about him. Coverage of him as person is completely sparse, he only gets a couple of passing mentions in third-tier media when they talk about the band. There is an interview in the Sun-Sentinel (already in the article) but thats basically everything which can be found about him. Per our notability requirements we need significant coverage in multiple independent sources in-depth about the subject. This is not fulfilled with some passing mentions and a single interview. His only notability claim is his association with the band, but thats not enough for anything according to our criteria and guidelines. He fails WP:DIRECTOR in all points and with the lack of reliable source which do in-depth coverage he also fails WP:GNG and/or WP:NBIO very clearly. The article should therefore be deleted. WP:BLP of a singer and record producer, with no strong claim to passing WP:NMUSIC and no quality reliable sourcing to support it. The only "references" here are his music's buy-it pages on online music stores, not media coverage about him -- and going back further in the history, the only other references that have ever been here at all are a Spotify stream and a Vevo videoclip. As always, a musician is not automatically entitled to a Wikipedia article just because the presence of his music on iTunes or Spotify proves that he exists; he must be the subject of media coverage, verifying passage of at least one specific NMUSIC criterion, for a Wikipedia article to become earned. This article appears to be about two different people. One is a producer of yoga videos, the founder of Bodywisdom and inventor of an endless candle, the other is the Director of Social Entrepreneurship at Simon Business School at the University of Rochester.

Additionally, if Wohl is most known for founding Bodywisdom Media Inc. and for being the executive director of the The Art of Peace Foundation, and neither of those two organizations have received significant coverage in reliable sources, how can he meet WP:GNG? Mduvekot (talk) 21:54, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

  • I wrote this page, I'm going to try to defend it.
  • They are not different people. Unfortunately it is the linkedin source which demonstrates this, which I realize is typically unacceptable, and the only reason I know for sure that this is the case is because I was at a lecture IRL where he spoke, which is obviously also unacceptable. I will look deeper into the sources and find the connection.
  • I concede that Bodywisdom alone does not meet the general notability guideline, but The Art of Peace Foundation does. The Art of Peace Foundation did at one point receive significant coverage (around 2008 when the songs for tibet album was produced), in fact, the album itself does have a wikipedia page Songs for Tibet: The Art of Peace. I will do some more research and make a page for The Art of Peace organization, make a page for it, and demonstrate this.

File:1994 Penrith City Chiefs team photo.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by AUSSportsHistory (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Permission reason is that the photo was given to every member of the team. That is simply not how copyright works. Copyright is a legal matter that is only transferred via legal action or contract (such as work for hire). Without that the copyright still belongs to the photographer and this photo is not in the public domain. Majora (talk) 00:43, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

I may have been a little obscure with my explanation. The photo was taken by the team's photographer and a copy was given to all members of the team by team management as a gift. Permission was given expressly or implicitly to use the photo to promote the game in schools and in the local community. AUSSportsHistory (talk) 12:51, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Is being used as a second image to display The Sims 4 logo within the article despite the fact File:The Sims 4 Box Art.png has already been used for well over 2 years. Therefore and as such, its usage does not consitute fair use since its usage doesn't do anything more to illustrate the logo than the other. However, if the consensus of this discussion turns out that the boxart image ends up getting deleted and not this one, that should achieve the same result. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 03:43, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

April 10[edit]

NEW NOMINATIONS[edit]

Category:Argutinsky-Dolgorukov[edit]

Nominator's rationale: Only contains one page. The linked Russian Wikipedia category has 4 articles, but for the time being this one is not justified. – Fayenatic London 16:13, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Category:Association football people by country[edit]

Nominator's rationale: Opposed speedy. The category should either follow the convention of Category:Sportspeople by sport and nationality or it should be removed from it. Armbrust The Homunculus 14:43, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Copy of speedy nom
  • Category:Association football people by country to Category:Association football people by nationality – C2C: per the convention in Category:Sportspeople by sport and nationality. Armbrust The Homunculus 14:25, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
Oppose. @Armbrust this is a container for categories of footballers in a country, who may not be of that nationality. See the similar distinction between Category:Association football players by country and Category:Association football players by nationality. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 15:35, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
@BrownHairedGirl: In that case, however, it shouldn't be in Category:Sportspeople by sport and nationality at all. Armbrust The Homunculus 15:51, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
@Armbrust: you may be right about that, and if so, then some juggling of parent categories may be required.
However, the underlying question is that since this all arises from a desire not to put expatriate footballers in Fooland under a "Fooish people" category, hoe far up the tree do we pursue the distinction? I am far from sure that it is a good idea to retain this distinction in the category system, because I don't think that our general intermixing of people-by-nationality with people-by-place supports it. For example, an American expatriate artist in Paris may be there for all their notable career, possibly many decades, so it would be folly not to categorise them under Category:People from Paris .... but that places them under Category:French people. I see no problem with that, but the sports categories are based on the assumption that such fuzziness doesn't exist. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:01, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
@Armbrust: This is a can of worms that is way too complex for a speedy. @BrownHairedGirl: I think the sports categories don't assume that kind of fuzziness doesn't exist, it's more that it's very common for footballers in particular to move around the globe, often on an annual basis - but for a very short time, maybe 6-8 years at the peak of their careers. So they don't get entrenched in the way that your artist would, so they don't identify as "French" - but at the same time, their two most defining characteristics at any one time are the team they are playing for and their international team (which is defined more strictly than citizenship - you can have two passports but only one football nationality). And for many footballers from smaller countries like say Ryan Giggs, they are defined more by the club than their country as they win many more trophies with their club than country. So personally I'd let sleeping dogs lie.... Le Deluge (talk) 18:23, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Category:Apostolic nuncios[edit]

Nominator's rationale: Opposed speedy. Every subcategory uses a capital "N", so this one should too. Armbrust The Homunculus 14:39, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Copy of speedy nom

Category:Austrian people of Silesian German descent[edit]

Nominator's rationale: purge and merge, the category consists of four Austrian people whose parents were born in Austrian Silesia so they don't belong in the category (not of German descent) and should be purged. And as a fifth one there is Georg Wahl who was a German Silesian working in Austria for about 15 years. So he wasn't descending, he was just a German and should be moved to Category:German emigrants to Austria. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:25, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Category:Drohobych Oblast[edit]

Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:SMALLCAT, not enough content for a small short-lived (20 years) country subdivision. No need to merge anything, the articles are already in the right categories. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:57, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Oppose. Consistency with other country's subdivisions. Give a some time. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 06:11, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Category:Ukrainian football forward, 2000s births stubs[edit]

Nominator's rationale: I propose that this category is a few years too early. Those born in the 2000s would be 17 or younger. Very few would have encyclopedia-worthy careers at this time. Recommend deleting the category and upmerging the template to Category:Ukrainian football forward stubs. Nothing against recreating the category in a few years, once a reasonable number of stubs (> 60) exist for this category. Dawynn (talk) 03:05, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Category:Soltaniyeh County geography stubs[edit]

Nominator's rationale: Inconsistent definition. Wikipedia can't even agree as to whether this is a county of its own or a district in Abhar County. Categories relating to the independent county definition are extremely small. Propose deleting and moving template to Category:Abhar County geography stubs. Dawynn (talk) 02:42, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Category:Universal identifiers[edit]

Nominator's rationale: This is in the spirit of CFDS #C2D, but it doesn't precisely fit that situation. Universal identifier is a redlink, and Universal identifiers is a redirect to International identifier, a kind of identifier that's used to identify multinational corporations. The basic concept is covered by an article with a different name, Unique identifier (this is the standard term in the field, not merely a Wikipedia-created descriptive title), which covers all sorts of identifiers from international identifiers to national identity numbers, from Bates numbering to Smithsonian trinomials. The article and category for this basic concept ought to share a title, and when the article has the standard term as its current title, the discrepancy ought to be resolved by renaming the category. Nyttend (talk) 02:06, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Redirects[edit]

April 10[edit]

No Teasing[edit]

These are all redirects from Simpsons Butterfinger commercials to articles that don't mention them. Maggie's Party, a similar Butterfinger ad redirect, was deleted after a discussion in December, and the same basic arguments apply to all of these.

The Butterfinger Group might plausibly be worth noting somewhere as the first appearance of Milhouse; but while the Milhouse article notes he was designed for a Butterfinger ad, that ad isn't mentioned by name. Butterfinger (where The Butterfinger Group currently redirects) has some content about these ads in general, but not about any specific ad. Sideways713 (talk) 11:58, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Mark (singer)[edit]

Redirect is ambiguous as to what it should be targeting as there are several Marks in the world who are singers other than Mark Lee. Marky Mark comes to mind, for instance.

Note that I declined a speedy deletion proposal that didn't specify a valid criteria and fixed the redirect that, after a series of page moves, had somehow ended up targeting itself. Grondemar 04:46, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I moved the page from Mark (singer) to Mark Lee (singer) (obviously because the surname had to be included), but the intended target redirected back to Mark (singer). Hence, I performed a page swap. I didn't think the left over redirect at Mark (singer) was a plausible/nessecary redirect so I marked it for speedy deletion with words to this effect. Sorry for any confusion. —Frosty 05:00, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Keep. He appears to be sufficiently well-known by his (albeit ambiguous) first name as a South Korean boy-band member, but his article should include his other name (as it currently does per user:Frosty). See WP:NICKNAME and WP:MONONYM. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 06:05, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Agie[edit]

"Agie" and "Agha" are not the same word. Agha is a disambiguation page, so the current setup could be considered misleading/confusing. Steel1943 (talk) 21:54, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Comment. The redirect originally targeted Agha (Ottoman Empire), whose version at the time did mention agie. – Uanfala (talk) 22:05, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Redirect to 'Aggie', itself a disambiguation page, since a great number of individuals are known as "Aggie _____" and this is easily misheard to be "Agie _____". The connection to 'Agha' seems tenuous at best to me. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 03:30, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

  • retarget to Aggie] per CoffeeWithMarkets. Thryduulf (talk) 08:31, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Disambiguate. A draft dab page (admittedly thin) with two red-linked entries and a prominent "see also" link to Aggie is available below the redirect. – Uanfala (talk) 14:51, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
    • Why isn't Agha also on there? Hyperbolick (talk) 21:13, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
      • It doesn't seem to be covered in any article. But if you think there should be an entry, you're welcome to add it. – Uanfala (talk) 21:15, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Confederate States Air Force[edit]

No evidence that "states" was ever in the name. Unlikely search term, apparently stems from a hoax. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 19:58, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

I have a feeling that Bill Bryson states somewhere, in Made in America (book) I would guess, that Colonel Sanders started to become the archetypal Southern Colonel after being granted honorary membership of the Confederate States Air Force at the rank of Colonel. (That rank does not exist in the regular USAF or RAF, I am aware; the article states he was awarded the title of Kentucky colonel, which I believe is indeed the case.) Will check; if he does in fact say Confederate then User:TenPoundHammer's statement of "no evidence" is weakened, but not beyond repair; could have just been a mistake on Bryson's part. Not in Made in America (book). Perhaps I am thinking of Notes from a Big Country, but so far I am on User:TenPoundHammer's side. Can't find that one on my bookshelf right now. Si Trew (talk) 20:31, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
..because I have the American (original) version called I'm a Stranger Here Myself. D'Oh. But I appear to have mislaid that or lent it to someone. Si Trew (talk) 20:33, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment. The redirect exists because "delete then redirect" was the consensus of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Confederate States Air Force in 2014. Thryduulf (talk) 07:22, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Weak keep. This title gets a lot of google hits, but almost all of them are for various different alternate histories. We have an article American Civil War alternate histories but that doesn't mention an air force, and retargetting to any single one would not be appropriate unless it is a central plot point in one more than others (doesn't appear to be the case based on a quick google). Military of the Confederate States of America doesn't mention this for obvious reasons. It's a not implausible misremembering of the (now former) name of the present target, and so in the absence of anything better it will do, but ideally it should should be a hatnote atop a better target. I'll leave a note a the Alternate History wikiproject to see if they have any thoughts. Thryduulf (talk) 07:22, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

Keep. User:Thryduulf tends to do a lot more checking than I do; I do basic checks as requried, but Thryduulf tends to look into these things. In case of any doubt of WP:COI, which I'm expecting, no more has Thryduulf asked me to say this than Champion has asked me to list Eubot nominations. Facts are still facts, though a hundred times you tell them so. Si Trew (talk) 13:14, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Gray Routes[edit]

Gray Routes (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (XfD|restore)

After talking to the administrator who deleted Gray Routes page, I'm keeping it for deletion review upon her suggestion.

This is Vamshi and I am a student. I am new to wiki and this is the first article that I tried to publish. My user name is vamshidhar.18 . Link for the wiki article that you deleted: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gray_Routes&action=edit&redlink=1

I follow news about upcoming startups in the media as a hobby and I recently came across this company called "Gray Routes" which I found noteworthy. However, when I searched on Wikipedia, I realized that the company didnt have a page so I thought of creating one myself. I was not aware that there was already a page created earlier which got deleted due to not having sufficient references.

I wish to highlight the fact that in the last one year, the company gained very good coverage in the media with respect to its growth and expansion. I have mentioned notable references such as Bloomberg, The Silicon Review & TechCircle as well which posit this fact.

I request you to reconsider your decision of speedy deletion. However, if you feel that the information published is some kind of advertisement, do let me know so that I can re-edit the page.

I have gone through all the guidelines of Wikipedia and I am certain that the references which I have mentioned satisfy the criteria of Wikipedia's policies.

Below are references I found on Gray Routes
