Finnish Nationals 2001 CoverageEspoo, Finland 26-27.5.2001Congratulations to Tomi "Jelly" Walamies on winning the finnish nationals.
At the end of the day, or we could say at the beginning of the morning Tomi Walamies defeated Jussi Perälä 2-0 in the finals. When the match ended it was already 01.00 am. Tired but very happy Tomi lifted up the trophies and said "I feel so happy!". He looked so relieved. He couldn't understand that he hadn't lost a single match in the nationals. Tomi was playing monoblue deck with Thieving Magpies and Temporal Adepts as Jussi played with the most roguish deck in the field, a Sligh deck. In the end it was all about the counterspells... especially Memory Lapses :) Mike Wall took the third place of Finland's national team with Fires. He won against Antti Puurula's Skies deck in a rather frustrating last game for both of them. Antti drew only land and some counters while Mike didn't draw any red mana and just kept on attacking with Llanowar Elves.
