Message: | I checked out the list, unfortunately, my financial situation limits me to the "Food for Less" column. Even so, some of those restaurants are challenging my wallet. But nuff said, here are my thoughts. Saladang Song -- one of my first experiences with Thai food was at the neighboring Saladang, so I'll always have a soft spot for them. Thai foods sometimes tastes very mass produced, but this is one place where you can count on quality Thai food. The atmosphere under the L.A. sky is nice too, on a warm night. Sushi Gen -- went here for my mom's birthday this year. We always have heard it's a great place for sushi. So we went, it was crowded for a weeknight, so there was a wait. After sitting and ordering, half of our party ordered hot foods and the other half ordered sushi. Our sushi took 45 minutes to get us...which really confused us b/c sushi is raw... We only got the sushi when we threatened to cancel our order and just pay for the hot food (that had already been consumed by then). We didn't get an apology, free dessert, discount, anything. Very disappointed with that experience. Sam Woo's -- what can I say? Never a bad food experience (service is another matter, completely!) in any Sam Woo's...except maybe in the Vegas one. Link included just in case it hasn't been already... |
