It's my 40th birthday next week, and I need a nice place for dinner for 4. I was thinking of Linq, but heard it might be noisy. The reviews on this board sound good...nice atmosphere, good service and good food, but if it is really loud I'm not sure it is the place.
 
The Little Door was my first choice, but after reading some reviews here it sounds like horrible service! Has anyone eaten there recently?
 
Someone mentioned Shiro, and it sounds good. What is it like atmosphere wise?
 
I want to go somewhere I haven't been before, that is not TOO expensive (like Valentinos which I would love to try but sounds too pricy.) Been to lots of the standard "Zagat's" top restaurants..Patina, Matsuhisa, Crustacean, Water Grill, etc.
 
I'd love any suggestions!
