Welcome to GVP Gear, home of the lightest large-volume backpack with a hip belt available, and now the G5 Gossamer, the lightest pack available anywhere. My G4 pack is the culmination of many experimental packs, and thousands of miles of trail testing. I was making packs for myself and a few friends, and made the instructions available at no cost, but kept getting requests for ready-made packs. So I made arrangements to have a few packs made. Two and a half years later, I have shipped over 1800 packs. I am selling them at a price to cover costs, write off a few backpacking trips, and plow some money back into non-profit wilderness organizations and startups. I have gained so much from so many others in the ultralight backpacking community; GVP Gear is my contribution. I am blessed with enough consulting engineering work to support my family, and am pleased to be able to offer these packs at low cost to make ultralight backpacking more accessible.
