Amanda is a professional photographer and she loves her job and the variety of subjects and personalities with which she works.  However, she hates it for all the same reasons.  She is a strong willed individual who believes that natural selection has been destroyed by society and thusly we are perpetuating a nation of idiots. Amanda is like an older sister to Monica as well as guardian angel and best friend.  She is the only one who can criticize Monica, and will defend her ferociously against anyone else's comments.  Occasionally Amanda will stand aside to let Monica step in the proverbial mud puddle to learn a valuable experience.  In the end she will be there to help Monica clean herself off and send her in the right direction.
