The sound quality well exceeded my expectation. Suprisingly, its output seemed indistinquishable from that of hi-end "audiophile" sources. A faultless product with a decent quality DAC, It has confirmed to me that the audio CD is dead.

The most satisfying purchase I've made in a long time. Its reputation deserves to spread like a forest fire.

Dear Slim Devices:  

I heard about your Squeezebox on a home theater forum I belong to.  I had no idea what it was or how it even worked.  Even after reading about it I came away still wondering how the thing worked but went ahead and bought it on faith anyway.  Well turns out I had already imported about 100 CD's on my main computer for transfer to other devices for travel and such.  It picked them up just like that and gave me the opportunity to pick what I wanted by artist, album, song title and others.  This was very cool thought.

No more ever having to pick out a CD from the drawer, waiting while it loads up and if there is a song I like not instantly  moving on or skipping it entirely in the beginning when making up a play set list.  Needless to say I am a very happy camper and had I known before there was something this great out there I would have purchased before.  Anyway congrats. 

You have made my life much easier, saved me time which is very important to me and made things easier even for a non computer person.  Love my new squeezebox.

I am amazed at the solid build quality of the 3rd generation Squeezebox. The thick brushed metal faceplate goes well with my other stereo components. I have this device connected to audio equipment worth well over $20,000 and now using FLAC it is the best sounding and most detailed source component I own. I am thinking of disconnecting my rather expensive cd player because having the Squeezebox's pure digital output connected to my DAC means my cd player has become obsolete. Finally all of my music at my fingertips. No more getting up to change the compact disk, no more guessing at what the track name is.

The sound quality is outstanding for a device at this price point. I also bought an external DAC to further improve the sound, only to find that it barely improved it at all, so good is your internal DAC. This DAC is currently receiving rave reviews in the audio press and on several online fora. Not to say that I think it is a poor device, but it shows how good your internal DAC is in the first place.

Saw the Homepod advertised and decided to try one of those - would you like it - its sucks! Wireless tuning is poor. Speakers - you would never stoop to listening to something as tinny as that powered sound output.

So I bought a Squeezebox. The opening interface is much easier to follow. I even thought the packaging was well designed. Keep up the very good work.

Spent a few hours over the weekend throwing together a dedicated Linux box for the SlimServer and got everything working sweet with Winamp in preparation for arrival day. I just got my Squeezebox2 set up. It was waiting for me when I got home from work. I'd already set up the Slim Server on my pc so I just hooked it up to the stereo, entered in the network info and it couldn't have been five minutes before I was listening to music. It's so easy to use! I didn't like how the clock showed seconds when the Squeezebox was off, so I found a likely entry in a .conf file, edited it, restarted the server and the clock is now just how I like it! Delightfully easy! I can't wait to mess around with customizing other stuff.

I just wanted to say thanks to the folks who've developed this excellent product - I'm REALLY enjoying my Squeezebox2!

I just revamped my whole musical setup to get into the mid-fi (hi-fi?) thing, with a new Musical Fidelity amp and Magnepan speakers -- and the Squeezebox2 at the heart of my setup. And I just have to say, I'm in audio heaven!

I took the time to burn all my CDs in FLAC, and this thing really makes it all worth it -- What a way to have access to all my music. And the internet radio is the icing on the cake. I've been into internet radio for a while, but the Squeezebox makes it all so convenient and gorgeous-sounding, I just love it!

I'm sitting here in a big comfortable chair the middle of my living room bathing in musical beauty; there's nothing like it. Even my wife has to admit how cool it is.

I really hope all you folks get rich like you deserve to!

I just bought two Squeezebox 2's. Wow. Wow. Wow. I am using a wireless network, no broadcast SSID, mac filtering, WPA-PSK, and I still managed to get them both set up within 20 minutes (I already had the Slimserver software installed and set up in anticipation, feeding out of my massive iTunes library).

These things work great, they are insanely flexible (i've already started hacking my first .pm), and even my wife is impressed that instead of the big old cd-player in the bedroom we now have something smaller than a clock radio, with a clock display and the ability to play any song she wants at any time, stream RSS, and an alarm clock.

You guys rock.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I just have to say something about how great SlimDevices (the company) is. I've had occasion to interact with these folks on several occasions and they've exceeded my expectations every time. Recently, I had a problem that required me to send my Squeezebox in for repair and again I was pleasently surprised by how they handled the situation. You don't find companies as professional, effective, trustworthy, and just plain likeable as this very often. In fact, I've never known another. If more companies used SlimDevices as their model, we'd all live better lives.

Well my Squeezebox2 arrived today and I must say it lives up to the expectations.

Installation was flawless. Wireless network recognition: no problem at all. My favourite plugins (RSS and Biography) also working.  

'Spousal Consent' raised about 100% upon seeing the Analog VU-meter screensaver.  

But the biggest surprise of all was the DTS-Surround.WAV streaming through the wireless connection with a full 100% buffer and not a single glitch!

I'm not normally like this. I'm a software developer, have been for many years, specializing in usability. I wasn't expecting the ease of use. Fair enough, The Register gave you a pretty good review, enough to make me buy one about an hour after I read it. But god. It's soooooooooooo cool. "Would you like to setup now?" "Is this your SSID?" "Confirm this IP address" "Ok, let's start playing music!"

I was also very impressed at the firmware update. "Press and hold brightness to install". I almost fell over.

After many months of looking at similar devices, the overwhelming reviews for your product convinced me to place an order. I just received my SB and I am blown away by the 'out-of-the-box' experience.

This is an awesome product and your whole company must be congratulated on such a truly well produced and innovative piece of gear - hardware and software. It took only minutes to get the thing hooked up and working and it works beautifully. I have >700 CDs ripped on my music vault and one of the problems I have run into with software players is the data management issue associated with such a library. You guys have solved this in a very smart way and I love the web-based management also. The open-source platform is a killer strategy and I'm sure will see you go from strength to strength.

I have one unit right now but can readily see me ordering at least 4 more for a whole house setup and I haven't even had this unit for a whole day. Again, many congratulations - looking forward to your future products!

My first impressions of the Squeezebox as I got it out of the box were that it is nice and compact, beautifully made and comes with everything required to get it up and running.

I had already downloaded and installed SlimServer (installation was painless, so often not the case, especially on a Linux box). It's so nice to come across a peripheral that's not crippled by inflexible support software that locks you in to using a proprietary operating system.

Within minutes of powering up the Squeezebox it had found my WLAN and through it my SlimServer and was happily playing titles from my MP3 collection.

Once up and running the two things that struck me over a few hours of listening were the ease of access to music, thanks to the excellent indexing of the collection, and the sound quality.

Being somewhat of a Hi-Fi connoisseur I had envisaged the Squeezebox as something I'd use for convenience rather than serious listening. I didn't believe that MP3s had the quality I have become accustomed to. Well, it's proved me wrong here. MP3 files that sounded pretty crude on other players really got my system singing and when it came to playing uncompressed PCM files the results were indistinguishable from my Arcam CD player.

It's only been 2 days so far but I can't imagine life without Squeezebox any more. It has given my music collection a new lease of life. I must admit to being a bit of a gadget freak but I cannot think of any other gadget that I have been so happy with or that has been so quick and easy to get hooked on!
