GamerDad Seal Of Approval - 10+. Click to learn more about our review seal. "Lumines" is one of the best launch games for the PSP. Consider it a modern interpretation of classic "Tetris" that folds in increasingly challenging game-play elements, a toe-tapping musical score and support for wireless multiplayer matches. Designed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi of "Rez" and "Space Channel 5" fame, the goal of this addictive puzzler is to rotate falling white and orange squares to form solid-colored rectangles. When this is achieved, the rectangles light up and disappear, but its game over if the pieces pile up and touch the top of the screen. Bonuses are collected for creating combos and other special moves. "Lumines" includes multiple game modes and unlockable extras such as new graphics and music.

Click to learn more about GamerDad's Kid Factor review section. Tetris skills get in the way here, and that makes it a superlative puzzler. Familiar yet totally new. Puzzle games are great for handhelds and with some urging this is a great game to introduce kids to this rewarding yet unappreciated genre. Kid Factor by Andrew Bub
