Local crew OTP (consisting of Exp, Reflux and Faculty), who provide workshops to young people in and around Adelaide, in conjunction with St Lukes church, are hosting the Battle For A Rep MC Competition, providing young artists with the opportunity to showcase their talents professionally and to raise funds and awareness of youth homelessness. Held at the historic St Lukes Church in Whitmore Square on Sat 8 July, this night offers fun and entertainment for all ages. Guest judges are The Hilltop Hoods and Headlock, with performances by OTP, Premium Blend DJs, Damo, Sr Masters And Fatal, DJ Auldais and Miss-Placed.

More local hip-hop is featured this week as on Fri 7 July Rhino Room sees A Devil Amongst The Tailors launching their debut EP 'Straight From The Underground'. They'll be dropping tracks off the EP live, as well as doing an MPC jam, which is a bit like a DJ scratch fest, but with MPC samplers.

On July 14, 2001 two friends came together to bring Adelaide's first dedicated progressive night with a simple formula of good times, good people and good music. Five years later, the partnership of Fabric Promotions still holds true with over a hundred parties bringing with them some of the best DJs and live acts from all around the world including James Holden, Infusion, Desyn Masiello, Nubreed, Hybrid, Dave Seaman and just recently, Luke Fair. The sound has changed but the essence remains unchanged. To help them celebrate, on Fri 14 July Fabric Promotions 5th Birthday at Sugar will feature two of thier favourite interstate DJs Sean Quinn and Chris Meehan, plus resident misfits Mal Chia and Lachy Pender.

Get set for the next installment of INFILTRATE and bear witness to some more of Adelaide's best Drum and Bass talent rinsing it out at CLUB FEVA on Fri 14 July. Joining the upcoming contingent of M-Wave (morgs), Fluke, Writa, Leezee, Weez, Stylus, Dirty Dave (Mr Hyde), Switch are a couple of the major players in the D'n'B scene in this fair city, inbound boys FICTION and FILTER.

Also on Bastille Day (that's Fri 14 July for those who don't know history) is Hard Evolution, a night of hard music at the Col Light Hotel. DJs Ben, H-Bomb, Equinox, Davin, Slide, Propaganda, Cheeky B, Hex, and Banshee will be your selectors for the evening, and the place will be cranking until the next morning, so go hard or go home!

Pee Wee Ferris returns to Karma at Earth on Sat 15 July to launch his new CD PEAK TIME. The long awaited mixed CD 3 years in the making has finally arrived, so come see why this man always packs the house and the dancefloor, with CD giveaways on the night. Pee wee joins the Karma residents Josh, C4, Damage, RE, Odyssey, H-Bomb, Mr S, and Banshee.
