Dr. james van etten Investigator

Jim Van Etten and his group have discovered several chlorella virus encoded channels. These include the 94 amino acid potassium ion channel Kcv and its homologs and, more recently, an aquaglyceroporin. These channels are being characterized in heterologous systems by colleagues Gerhard Thiel (Darmstadt, Germany) and Anna Moroni Milano, (Italy).
