A large majority of clusterheads that have received prescription narcotics report that the narcotics do little or nothing for the pain. A small group of cluster headache sufferers do report reasonable relief from narcotics. Given the adverse effects (particulary dependency), many believe that this category of drugs should be used only when other options have been exhausted.
