Artist Statement.

A common thread in my work has been an interrogation into the boundaries set between the artwork, artist and audience.  Alongside this I explore social and relational aesthetic issues in art, examining how the audience can participate in the process of art-making. I am interested in how art can foreground social issues and push the boundaries of what is usually designated 'community art'.

These interests have since been applied to the creation of the project British Born Chinese Lesbian and the website www.bbclesbian.co.uk, which is an attempt to make visible the UK Chinese lesbian community.

It has been from my personal dialogues with women from this project that signals both a personal new way of working and thinking using video and sound, and issues that touch upon the British Born Chinese identity.

I am currently working as Project Coordinator for the re:thread exhibition with the artist Wu Mali in Blackburn, and also as Digital Arts Manager at Community Arts Northwest in Manchester.

I am also a member of Suite Studio Group.
