2007 C16 People’s Choice Awards
The People Have Spoken…

By the hardworking, Rockstar-swilling C16 staff!

We got a great reaction to our first People’s Choice Awards piece last year. It was a great way for both our readers and our advertisers to get a handle on the market. Quite honestly, we were surprised that no other magazine had stepped up to the plate and done anything similar until then—well, not too surprised. We like to think we’re on the cutting edge and hope that C16’s People’s Choice Awards will become the Oscars of the automotive lifestyle market one day. Hey, maybe we’ll have a party and celebrate or something. Harnessing the power of the internet once again, we’ve put the word out to our readers and subscribers, both print and online—’cos we are doing it digitally now, too—and asked them to vote on the products, brands, media and events which shape the high octane lifestyle that they lead. Once again, we had a terrific response. The people care and want their voices and choices to be heard and known. We had many thousands of respondents and they pretty much stuck with the poll all the way through its twenty or so categories. Since last year, we pared the categories down a little and changed a couple up. Probably another good reason for the overwhelming response was the chance of winning a new car—no less than five a day were given away to randomly-picked lucky entrants. Not real cars of course, but killer diecasts from HPI Racing, of Petter Solberg’s Number 5 WRC Subaru WRX STI. So the votes have been counted and the results tallied. Not surprisingly, we’ve seen a little shift in the market and the tastes of our readers since last year, as our reach has expanded and our readership has grown—probably helped through that same power of the internet and the availability of our digital editions online. Check it out now—C16's 2007 People’s Choices.
