Gallery Gigs            Stacia Tab

This is a list of the gigs I've been to. 26 so far - not many by Hawkfan standards. For some of the gigs I've included an audio clip. If you can help with clips from any of the gigs I'm missing I'd like to hear from you.

10 December 1974:

This was the "Warrior "set. I can remember the huge array of drums which sat behind the normal drum kit, or kits, now that the band had 2 drummers.

17 December 1975:

Dave Brock, Simon King, Nik Turner, Paul Rudolph, Simon House, Alan Powell, Bob Calvert
I remember queuing outside when Bob Calvert turned up in World War 1 flying gear and proceeded to thump on the door demanding to be let in as he was in the band. Another feature of this gig was a live version of Ragna Rock from Bob's Lucky Leif album.

6 March 1976:
Imperial College, London
Dave Brock, Simon King, Nik Turner, Paul Rudolph, Simon House, Alan Powell, Bob Calvert
Heard Kerb Crawler for the first time and the only time I saw the new dancer Ricki, who I believe later had a part in "Hi-Di-Hi".

This is one of the gigs where they showed the old black & white "Reefer Madness" film before kicking off the gig with you-know-what.

I took my girlfriend to her first Hawkwind concert after telling her how spectacular the light show was. Unfortunately, in that respect the gig was really disappointing. Mime artists/dancers waving torches about is my memory of it.

This has to go down as one of the best gigs I've been to. A great set list, Dave in good form and high in the mix. Sound was really good, and a great atmosphere.

3 June 2005
Croydon Fairfield Halls
Dave Brock, Alan Davey, Richard Chadwick, Jason
A good gig but this venue is not great for atmosphere. The highlight for me was the most amazing version of Paradox - I'd love to get this on CD.
