Aspirin
Aspirin and other OTC pain relievers (acetominophen, ibuprofen, naproxen) have proven completely innefective for aborting cluster headaches.
Because aspirin is an anticoagulant, it may have some benefit in preventing cluster headaches, although no studies have been carried out to determine if this is the case. Aspirin increases the risk of bleeding, particularly in the stomach and its use is not risk free. Some doctors reccomend daily low-dose aspirin for patients at risk of certain heart diseases.
