New book: Mills, David L. Computer Network Time Synchronization: the Network Time Protocol, CRC Press 2006, 304 pp.

I have participated since 1977 in Internet technology development and protocol engineering. My research interests include computer internetworking systems, security architectures and cryptographic protocols. Current and past projects have been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), US Navy, US Army and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

I teach graduate courses in computer networks, computer security and the mathematics of cryptography. I also teach undergraduate courses in computer architecture, electronic circuit analysis and analog/digital communications.

I am a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
