From the late
Fifties into the early Sixties, the detective drama was a popular new
format on television. Unlike the Seventies when every detective had
an odd affliction (fat like 'Cannon', old like 'Barnaby Jones', disabled
like 'Ironside', canceled like 'Banacek') the detectives of the Sixties
were all pretty much alike - cool (supposedly).
