Who we
are
Over the years, we of the Pagan community have
seen again and again how few resources are available to Pagans
in need. Whether it's a fund to defray legal costs
when defending our right to worship or just
some help to get us through a hard time, we have often
seen Pagans having to go outside our community for assistance.
In response, the Pagan Community Fund (formerly the Wiccan
Community Fund) was
established to assist any Pagan group or
individual in need. Recipients may use the
assistance to put food in the cupboard, pay bills,
recover from some natural disaster, or fund legal
efforts in the case of religious discrimination.
Monies in the PCF are donated by compassionate people within the
Pagan community. The assistance is a gift, not a
loan. Funds are generated and given in Perfect Love
and Perfect Trust.
How the PCF
works
Distribution of funds is overseen by the
Advisory Board, which is made up of several members
of Pagan and non-Pagan communities. Advisors,
all of whom volunteer their time, evaluate each
request sent in to determine the type or amount of
assistance to be given. Occasionally more
information is requested to help the Advisors
make appropriate decisions. In the case where the
Advisors feel the applicant might be better served by
another organization, referrals are made. Advisory Board
decisions are reached through consensus.
Confidential records are kept of the request for
assistance and the response taken in order to
safeguard against possible fraud. The PCF is administered
by Lady Jana Heo-Wulf Noroan, treasurer of the Fund,
and ultimate oversight is held
by the PEN Board of Directors.
The PCF is operated as part of PEN's ongoing
commitment to build community and create
a better world. All gifts to the PCF are tax-deductible.
All monies raised go towards
assistance and operations expenses such as postage.
No one is paid for his/her work with the
PCF.
There are no
assistance application forms to fill out. We are
not a bureaucracy. The PCF is available to all Pagans,
regardless of race, sex, or sexual orientation..
The PCF is also
gathering resources for an information
clearinghouse which helps direct those in need to
appropriate organizations and facilities. Emphasis
is placed on those organizations, institutions,
individuals, funds, etc. that are geared to assist
people immediately in times of need.
We need your
help!
Tax-deductible donations of any size are always accepted. We
also welcome information for our resources
clearinghouse. If you know of someone in need, or
are in need yourself, we want to hear from you!
Just send us the details of your situation.
Decisions by the Board are usually made quickly; we
are dedicated to offering timely
assistance.

information, or to make your tax-deductible donation
