Jurors should acquit even against the judge's instruction, if exercising their judgment with discretion and honesty they have a clear conviction that the charge of the court is wrong.   Alexander Hamilton, 1804

March 21, 2009 -- It's been nearly 9 months since I last posted on this web site.  Many loyal readers and supporters of the Muckraker Report were concerned when I published the "last" article on May 9, 2008.  The truth be told - I needed a break.  The constant grid of "bad" news was taking its toll.

In the near future, I'll be at it again - investigating and reporting!

I have decided on a few changes.  The site name will simply be Edward F. Haas.  The URL - muckrakerreport.com will still work.  However, the new primary web address is now edwardfhaas.com.

I do not plan to add additional writers.  I greatly appreciate the work that was contributed to the Muckraker Report.  Many of these great articles are available on the Muckraker Report page contained in this site (see menu bar).  The time required to read and make edit suggestions is something I have decided to avoid in the future.  It was just too much when combined with running the site and writing my own articles.

The biggest change will be that I no longer want to be confined to muckraking.  Digging in the muck nonstop was having a negative impact on my spiritual condition.  From time to time, I have to be able to write about something humorous, ridiculous, or dare I say "good".  As is so simply spoken in the Desiderata - "With all its sham, drudgery & broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world".   I need to write about these beautiful things from time to time.

Yours in liberty,

E. F. Haas
