With various stage credits under her belt, her two favorite performance experiences continue to be singing with The Hot Spots for our troops stationed overseas, and playing Shakespeare’s Juliet in over twenty of our United States. Recent television credits include The West Wing, Commander in Chief, and David Mamet’s The Unit. Films include Chickenlivers, Flushed, and the upcoming Sven Stromson Blue, based on the life and art of Yves Klein. Circus Theatricals Studio Ensemble Member.

 

 

DYLAN KUSSMAN - Fletchley

JERRY LLOYD- Lothar

Greensward marks Jerry's first appearance with Circus Theatricals. Jerry is back in Los Angeles after being in Seattle for 15 years. Jerry's Seattle run included many theatres, television and film. Watch for "Bullets, Blood and a Fistful of Cash" to be released in
October 2006. JENNIFER LEE TAYLOR - April Brome

This is Jen’s debut at Circus Theatricals and in L.A.  In Seattle she has performed at Book-It Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Seattle Children’s Theatre, The Empty Space Theatre, and A Theatre Under the Influence. She has also performed at San José Repertory Theatre and Portland Center Stage. She works extensively as a voice over artist and if you play video games you may recognize her as the voice of Cortana in the Halo series and Princess Peach and Toad in the Mario Brothers’ games.

Derrick McDaniel (Lights)

With Circus Theatricals: The Misanthrope and Iphigenia in Aulis.

Derrick began his acting apprenticeship in 1990 at Theater East in Studio City, CA. This is where he honed the craft of stage lighting. A few of his lighting credits include “The Godfather Workout” for the HBO comedy festival in Aspen; “The Quiet Room” at the Whitefire Theater, “Worse Than Murder” at the Ventura Court Theater, and “Eubie Weller” at the Stella Adler Theater; “Among The Thugs” at the Odyssey Theater- and many others.  Derrick was nominated for a 2004 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle award for lighting, in “Among The Thugs”, as well as, a 2005 ADA lighting nomination. He has earned critical acclaim, many times over, for his designs. Derrick would like to thank you for your support of live theater. Enjoy.

 

John Freeland, Jr. - Stage Manager

John Freeland, Jr. is delighted to return to Circus Theatricals since stage managing their production of Iphigenia In Aulis.

Mr. Freeland stage managed, acted and directed in the 4th International Blind and Visually Impaired Theatre Festival ( Zagreb, Croatia). Other company’s include Robey Theatre Co, East West Players, Southwest Chamber Music, The National Black Theatre Festival (Winston-Salem, NC), The Matrix Theatre, Watts Village Theatre Co., Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Dept., The Actors Studio, Inner City Cultural Centre, Greenway Court Theatre, Towne Street Theatre, Central Avenue Jazz Festival and NAACP Theatre Awards.

John has also appeared in several theatre, TV and film productions.

He has also worked with several youth organizations including (Out) Law & Order , Virginia Avenue Project. For The Unusual Suspects in Central Juvenile Hall, Elkhorn Correctional Facility, Camp David Gonzales assisting them in creating material for performance. John is from Middletown, CT. and attended Wesleyan University.

Richard Ziman - Director

Founding member of Circus Theatricals

Richard Ziman is a founding member of Circus Theatricals in New York, where he played Danton in their acclaimed New York production of Danton’s Death, Tesman in Hedda Gabler, Jean in No Exit, and was in the world premiere of John Bunzel’s Delirious. In Los Angeles, he received a Dramalogue award for Brad in Tulsa. He directed Circus Theatricals productions of Three Sisters, and John Bunzel’s Gravity Shoes.

Richard was most recently seen in Rounding Third at Seattle’s Intiman Theatre. Last season he played Harry Brock in Warner Shook’s production of Born Yesterday for ACT Theatre, and subsequently for South Coast Repertory. Also for ACT: Polish Joke, Grand Magic, Christmas Carol, and Mitzi’s Abortion. Off B’way, Richard Has Directed the world premiers of Eric Blau’s Dali, and Hertlz, and The Grass Eats The Horse; Also The Cocktail Hour at Houston’s Stages.

Richard originated the role of Schultz in Trevor Nunn’s world premiere production of Tennessee Williams’ Not About Nightingales for the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain, which he subsequently reprised on Broadway. Other Broadway plays include: Jack O’Brien’s Henry IV, Laughter on the 23 rd Floor,Epic Proportions, Lost in Yonkers, and the National Tours of Biloxi Blues and Laughter on the 23 rd Floor.

Off B’way includes: NYSF productions of Twelfth Night, Henry IV, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Julius Caesar, Kit Marlowe, How It All Began, The Normal Heart, and Manhattan Theater Club’s production of Polish Joke, directed by John Rando. Regionally he has appeared at The Alley Theater, Dallas Theater Center, Actors Theater of Louisville, The Wilma Theater, and Shakespeare Theater LA where he received an L.A. Dramalogue Award for Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew.

TV appearances include: “The Sopranos,” “Law&Order,” “Third Watch,” “ 100 Center Street,” “Law&Order SVU,” and “One Life to Live. Film: Clockers, Hackers, Private Parts, Death to Smoochy, The Chosen,” and the soon to be released “Unholy.”

Richard is a Native New Yorker, and a graduate of the High School of Performing Arts and the Juilliard School.

 


 

R. HAMILTON WRIGHT- Playwright

R. Hamilton Wright has worked as a professional actor for over thirty years and in that time has appeared in over one hundred and thirty productions. Some of his favorites include Red Noses by Peter Barnes and Bach at Leipzig by Itamar Moses at Seattle’s ACT Theatre; ART by Yasmina Reza and Doug Hughes’s adaptation of Moliere’s The Miser at the Seattle Repertory Theatre; Jeffery Hatcher’s Hanging Lord Haw Haw at The Empty Space Theatre; Len Jenkin’s My Uncle Sam at The Public Theatre in New York; Loot by Joe Orton and Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Intiman Theatre and Bill Irwin and Mark O’Donnell’s adaptation of Moliere’s Scapin at the Seattle Rep and the Arizona Theatre Company.

Greensward is his second play. He lives in his home town of Seattle with his wife, Katie Forgette, herself a playwright.

JEANNINE STEHLIN - Producer / Sound Design

Managing Director, Circus Theatricals

Produced over 40 plays for Circus Theatricals, including Macbeth, Tartuffe, The Cherry Orchard, Richard III, Hamlet and The Cheats of Scapin, (Odyssey Theatre/Circus Theatricals co-productions) and the award-winning The Job by Shem Bitterman (LA and Off-Broadway). Acting credits include: Macbeth, Twelfth Night, The Job, Peer Gynt, Tartuffe, The Misanthrope, Hippolytus, The Stronger, The Art of Success, Women and Wallace.

Film, “Watch It,” and “Rancho Cucamonga, " The Phlebotomist." Jeannine made her first television appearance at the tender age of four on "Romper Room" (KDKA Pittsburgh).

Jeannine holds a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Illinois, and an M.B.A. in Marketing from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Currently, Jeannine is getting her teaching artist designation with the Los Angeles County "Arts for All" program.

Jack Stehlin currently teaches a Monday Night Scene Study with Performance Showcase. He was also Visiting Associate Professor in the UCLA Department of Theater for Winter 2005.

Jack founded Circus Theatricals in New York in 1983, and has produced over 40 plays in NYC and Los Angeles. An award-winning actor, Jack has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatre, and stages around the world. Jack is an alumnus of John Houseman's The Acting Company and a graduate of the Juilliard School.
