Background

A long time ago, there were people who sacrificed personal conveniences and desires to pursue the betterment of the world. These people were called "Activists."

Today, our busy society is less willing to give away comfort, time, wealth, and possessions to make the world a better place. Because of this, there are only a few activists left and the memory of this dying civilization has almost perished from the earth.

"In the summer of 1998, I met an activist in the Chicago Airport on her way to help farmers in Central America. She was wearing worn out army surplus pants. With hairy legs and sandals, she sat quietly with all her worldly possessions in a back pack. I was shocked. I hadn't seen an activist for many years.
