Wordy is very excited to find out what will happen in the last chapter, and so is Jenny because she thinks the Tall Knight is about to turn up. Wordy starts excitedly singing bits from some of the songs from this unit:

Jenny starts reciting some of the Friendly Ghost's riddles, while Wordy is busy playing Magic Pencil and showing how to draw a question mark, and he tries telling a joke: "What do short sighted ghost wear? -Spooktacles."
Then it's time for the two songs with Mr Big and Mrs Full Stop.

Wordy pops down into his bin for the last time to say goodbye to the little ghost. The ghost still hasn't got his voice back, but he seems to want to build some words. He orders Wordy about a bit, and Wordy does what he's told. Then it's time for the ghost to leave.

Wordy returns to the library, where Jenny's got some actual users in for once. She's got The Ghost of Thomas Kempe out and reads a bit to the children. Wordy suggests that teachers get the book and read the rest of it out, while Jenny leads a quick group discussion on ghosts. And that's the end of the Wordy bits for this unit, and it's back to the story.

Story Bit

As Tracy and Towser make their way back to the house, everything goes dark and there's a long and loud roll of thunder plus a few flashes of lightning. She hurries in trying to find Lord Dark.
Up in the bedroom, the Friendly Ghost has finished his spell, but there's no sign of the Tall Knight. Then he and Edward hear the Knight laughing somewhere.

Lord Dark is initially very cross to see Tracy back in his house, but once she's explained he decides that he believes her after all. He makes a phone call then follows Tracy up towards the tower.
In the tower, Miss Hawk is leafing through the Golden Book, which she reckons is just a beautiful as the legend said. She wants to keep it for herself, but Benger and Bunce are planning to sell it. Then they hear the Tall Knight's laugh too.

The Friendly Ghost is still trying chanting his strange words in the bedroom, but still only getting the laugh. The tower room is now pitch black and Benger and Bunce are wetting themselves. They try running down after Miss Hawk, who is trying to start up her car. They arrive down at the same time as Lord Dark, Tracy, Towser and Edward come out of the house, and everyone stares at the fearsome spectre of the Tall Knight making his way through the yard towards them. Benger, Bunce and Miss Hawk dash about terrified.

Soon the police arrive and everything becomes light again. While Benger, Bunce and Miss Hawk are arrested, Tracy returns the Golden Book to Lord Dark, who thanks her, and the Friendly Ghost dances with glee in the bedroom. The Tall Knight has vanished again, but strange laughter is coming from all over the house. The ghosts of Dark Towers are having the last laugh.
