| | | | | A. | Ordinarily, the Rite of Committal takes place at the graveside. According to the ritual it may take place completely in the church, completely in the cemetery, or partly in the church and partly in the cemetery. Often inclement weather determines where the Rite of Committal takes place. If done in a cemetery chapel, the final leave-taking should not seem to be hurried. The prayers of committal recognize that the place of interment or entombment has been transformed by means of Christ’s death and resurrection.
