Building relations: Missoula Girl Scouts help rebuild library in Thailand through donations
On March 24, six girls - Kirsten Anderson, Sara Anderson, Morgan Hyde, Hallie Oines, Faith Schindler and Sybil Walton - and five adults from Missoula Girl Scout Troop 832 traveled to Thailand to rebuild a library at Laem Tong School on the island of Phi Phi Don, which was hit by the tsunami in December of 2004. In addition to raising money to pay a portion of their travel expenses, the girls raised $6,200 for the construction of the library, most of which they sent over a month before the trip. Costs are lower in Thailand so they were able to complete the entire structure with the donation sent. The school hired a local builder, the brother of one of the teachers, to construct the building before the Scouts arrived. The Scouts then spent a week doing finishing work on the building including sanding, priming, and painting the woodwork and the walls inside and outside. They also spent a lot of time interacting with the children, with each group trying to speak a few phrases of the other's language.

Lost, we hear Jesus speak our name and we are found
Screen names, passwords, PINs, alarm codes: our brains (or numerous sticky notes) are full of combinations of numbers and letters (is it lower case or upper case?) that are required so we can access our homes, businesses, computers, bank accounts and lockers.

  Food
Italians in the north and south use the freshest vegetables available to their region - but Montanans can use the market
Pasta primavera, which literally means “spring pasta,” is the only pasta dish the Italians have named for a season. Just why this is so is a mystery to me, because the Italians love to celebrate their bountiful produce all year-round.
