This piece can be made with any butterfly of choice. Also you can continue around and leave the butterfly off, and just have a nice bookmark. Also a tassel could be added to end.

LR 12ds P 2ds P 2ds LP 2ds P 2ds P 10ds P 2ds CL (do not turn)
SR 2ds + (to last picot of prev. ring) 6ds P 2ds LP 2ds P 6ds P 2ds Cl
SR 2ds + (to last picot of prev. ring) 6ds P 2ds LP 2ds P 6ds P 2ds Cl
LR 2ds + (to last picot of prev. ring) 10ds P 2ds P 2ds LP 2ds P 2ds P 12ds Cl
Shape center, and leave 2" tail and knot for antenna.

R 3ds + (attach to picot of Small ring of butterfly.) 3ds P 1ds LP 1ds P 3ds P 3ds Cl & RW
*Ch 3ds P 3ds Cl & RW
R 3ds + (attach to picot of prev. ring) 3ds P 1ds LP 1ds P 3ds P 3ds CL & RW
Ch again and keep repeating until you have the length desire.
The end of bookmark
Once you have desired length for your bookmark do one last ch of 3ds P 3ds. Then do the clover leaf, with this you do not turn work.

R 3ds + (to last picot of prev. ring) 3ds P 1ds LP 1ds P 3ds P 3ds Cl (do not turn)
R 3ds + (to last picot of prev. ring) 3ds P 1ds LP 1ds P 3ds P 3ds CL RW to start your next side.)
(Making sure you join the chains to the previous chains made on the first side.)
* continue around till you reach the last ring which will be attached to other wing of butterfly. Here you will have to add the last picot to the picot of the butterfly by doing a FOLDED JOIN.
