How can I get rid of a pest (insect, etc.) that’s damaging my tree(s)?

Visit the Bureau of Forestry’s Forest Pest Management page, call them at (717) 948-3941, or contact your local forest district.

Where can I buy trees?
Penn Nursery sales are limited to reforestation projects but the Pennsylvania Game Commission has a nursery at Howard that provides trees of some species if the landowner will open his property to public hunting.

The PGC owns and operates the Howard Nursery, which annually produces about five million seedlings to improve wildlife habitat on public and private properties. Seedlings are given to landowners enrolled in the agency's public access programs, planted on game lands and sold—at cost—to the public. The agency also provides a wildlife seed mix to landowners interested in providing food and cover for wildlife. Visit their web page for details at the Game Commission's home page.

What’s the best way to plant a tree?

What’s the best way to cut down a tree?

Cutting down a tree of any size is dangerous work, and hiring a professional is suggested.
