Stade Francais Paris 12 v Toulouse 18
The tenth anniversary Heineken Cup final fittingly saw the inaugural champions Toulouse battle with rising stars Stade Francais Paris for the coveted European title.
Murrayfield was the venue for the first Heineken Cup final to be played in Scotland and an impressive 51,326 spectators saw Toulouse defeat the Parisians in extra time, adding to the symmetry with the first European final.
Fabien Galthie’s Paris side led until two minutes from the end of normal time before Frederic Michalak leveled the contest for Toulouse with his first penalty strike.
He repeated the dose in the initial stages of extra time - then sealed his side's success with a superb opportunist drop-goal.
Toulouse became the first team to win three Heineken Cup titles and the last minute defeat to Wasps in Twickenham in 2004 was finally put to rest.
