New "Dollhouse" Jossverse clip!

3 February 2009 | From Movie Jungle | See recent Movie Jungle news

Movie Jungle has a new "Jossverse" clip in from Fox's "Dollhouse" series starring Eliza Dushku, Amy Acker, Reed Diamon, Enver Djokaj, Fran Kranz, Dichen Lachman, Harry Lenix, Tahmoh Penikett, Olivia Williams and Erin Cummings.   The series created by Josh Whedon ("Firefly," "Serenity," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") debuts on Friday, February 13 at 9/8c, only on Fox!   Echo (Dushku) is an "Active," a member of a highly illegal and underground group of individuals who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Hired by the wealthy, powerful and connected, the Actives don't just perform their hired roles, they wholly become -- with mind, personality and physiology -- whomever the client wants or needs them to be. Whether imprinted to be a lover, an assassin, a corporate negotiator or a best friend, the Actives know no other life than the specific engagements they are in at that time.

Whedon's Cabin in the Woods Expands Its Cast, Or Does It?

31 January 2009 8:51 PM, PST | From firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news

Joss Whedon's The Cabin in the Woods has already found a couple cast members in Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, and now Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that the top secret Whedon/Goddard team-up is adding Jena Malone to its ranks. Malone has seen her fair share of genre work in films such as Donnie Darko and The Ruins. Bill Nighy is also rumored to be a part of the cast. But wait! Are we being played by the players themselves?! Joss Whedon posted the following on his official website regarding this most recent casting news, sending out his own misinformation about the project, and a Serenity sequel. Turns out that the New York Times's info about the plot summary and the casting of Jena Malone and Bill Nighy is completely wrong. This is misinformation. While we are fans of both those actors, neither is attached to the movie. Just ...

Nathan Fillion: On voicing Steve Trevor

29 January 2009 8:08 AM, PST | From Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news

Nathan Fillion, star of Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” and “Serenity,” will do double duty this March as the voice of Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, the next entry in the series of DC Universe animated original PG-13 movies due on March 3, 2009, with a preview showing at the New York Comic Con, and is also taking the title role in “Castle”, premiering on March 7th on ABC, which features Fillion as a hugely popular mystery/horror writer who helps police solve crimes-- think "Murder She Wrote" with Stephen King, but nowhere near as stiff.

Fillion, a fan favorite as Captain Mal Reynolds, as well as Captain Hammer in “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog,” found time away from the grasp of DC Voice Director Andrea Romano (right) and his unrelenting Halo addiction to chat.

Question: Can you describe the challenges of bringing Steve Trevor to life?

Joss Whedon: Marketing Genius

27 January 2009 4:57 AM, PST | From TwitchFilm.net | See recent Twitch news

So, it’s been pretty widely accepted for a good long time now that Buffy mastermind Joss Whedon is one of the best in the world when it comes to building - and manipulating - online hype for his projects, essentially getting fans to do his PR work for him.  Heck, this is the guy whose fans talked a studio into making his cancelled TV show - Firefly - into a feature film - Serenity.  But it’s been a while since we’ve had the chance to see Whedon in action, what with most of the early talk about his upcoming Dollhouse revolving not around actual content but rumors of studio interference and behind the scenes turmoil.  But now Whedon is back in the saddle with his upcoming feature The Cabin In The Woods - a film he will produce and co-wrote with Cloverfield writer Drew Goddard with Goddard at the helm.
