Interpol, Bloc Party, QOTSA Play Cali Radio Fests In this age of hi-speed music consumption, some bona fide classic artists are bound to get lost. Here to rescue some of those unsung heroes is Los Angeles radio station KROQ, the staff of which invited unheralded indie pioneers Korn and Linkin Park to their annual Weenie Roast to play alongside Interpol, Queens of the Stone Age, and Peter Bjorn and John at Irvine, California's Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on May 19.

The event's old punk dude quotient is high as well with appearances from Bad Religion, Social Distortion, and Rancid/Operation Ivy's Tim Armstrong. Other performers at the Weenie Roast-- now called the "KROQ Weenie Roast y Fiesta"-- include the Killers, Rise Against, Silversun Pickups, the Bravery, 30 Seconds to Mars, Plain White T's, and Tiger Army.

Barring any last-minute additions or new band members or random backup singers, that makes the bassist of Silversun Pickups the only female performer at this show. Is the Weenie Roast always this much of a sausage fest?

Thanks to several alert readers for the tip.

Not to be outdone by its neighbor down south, San Francisco's Live 105 has a pretty sweet fest of its own shaping up. Live 105's BDF 07 goes down June 9 at the city's Shoreline Amphitheatre and, like the Weenie Roast, includes Interpol, Queens of the Stone Age, Social Distortion, and Silverun Pickups. Joining them: Bloc Party, the Faint, CSS, Kaiser Chiefs, Cold War Kids, Tiger Army, and the crowning touch: Sum 41. High five to reader Annabel Ly for the tip.
