You've seen "The Bachelor"; now watch the backlash. Jason Mesnick, the straight-arrow single dad who dumped his fiance for another contestant in the reality show's season finale, is "the most hated man in America right now," the show's host, Chris Harrison, told E! Online.

Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft on Monday night's show. But in the subsequent "After the Final Rose" special, which was taped six weeks after the proposal but also aired Monday, he told Rycroft he was dumping her because he still had feelings for runner-up Molly Malaney.

"How can you trust him?" former bachelorette Trista Sutter told momlogic.com.

"I wouldn't trust what he is saying to me. He is obviously fickle."

Video of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel grilling Mesnick after the fiance switcheroo includes this pointed question: "Did you keep the name of the other contestants in case you change your mind?"
