So I can’t go to my home school spring fling because I’m not 13 yet.
And I really, really, really, really wanted to go because I had a dress and shoes and everything. Also I had my heart set on accompanying Jonah who’s 14 and who is like my uber-secret crush but your parents have to sign a permission slip before they let you in and my mom won’t push up my age.
Life is so boring when you are betwixt and in-be-tween LOL.

My Grandmother Died Today
My grandmother passed at approximately 4;30 this morning she would had been 92 this march 28th
She wanted to live to be 100 years old.
My grand mother was very sick up until the point of he passing she suffered for four years from the effects of altimeters.
She was a beautiful strong woman who taught me how to be fierce and whip some behind if I needed to.
She taught me how to play the piano and how to praise god how to be who I am today.
So it is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I write this journal entry.
Here are some stanzas from two of my favorite songs about loss. The first piece is how my grandmother would want me to view her death, and the second piece is how I feel at the moment.

This last piece is from my grandmother’s favorite hymn Amazing Grace. the song had a lot of significance to my grandmother for it was this song she was singing when she survived getting hit by a streetcar at age 16 and it was this song her mother was humming to her in a premonition right before she passed.

Keke Palmer's first leading role in a majior motion picture was in the 2006 release Akeelah and the Bee
In Akeelah and the Bee Keke plays Akeelah Anderson a tween who takes part in a spelling bee competition
Keke Palmer is also pursuing a singing career and has released a debut album intitled Uncool
Keke palmer participated in a spin off of the American Idol singing competition when she was a kid.

Assignment 17
A retelling of the song Huma-Huma-Nuka-Nuka-Apuwa'a from High School Musical 2 (extended edition)

Part One: Prince into Fish
A long time ago in a land for away lived The oceanographer queen Atla and her son Ikan. Ikan was a handsome prince with handsome features and a bad attitude toward all marine life.
“Fish are stupid,” he said to his mother one day as she was feeding some friends in the aquarium.
“Boy don’t be so negative,” she scolded, “fish or a vital part of the largest ecosystem on earth and studying them will help us make better choices about our impact on the environment. You must always remember Ikan If you do not respect the land and the sea the land and the sea cannot respect you.”
But Ikan did not heed his mother’s stern but delicate words. And his spitefulness for all aquatic life remained unscathed growing bolder and more present as he grew older.

One day while helping his mother test the vitality of some coral reefs he saw a dolphin swimming in the water.
“Hey, come here you stupid dolphin,” Ikan called out to it mischievously. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
But the dolphin was smart and knew the impish lad’s deceptive ploy and would not come. This made Ikan very, very angry. So angry that he decided to teach the defiant dolphin a lesson. He waited for the right moment when his mother was unawhere of his actions then he snatched a harpoon from her boat and trusted it into the side of the great sea mammal.
Then something unexpected happened. The dolphin burst into millions of pieces and from those pieces fashioned a strange white bearded man with the upper body like a person and the lower body like a fish. He struck the waves with his trident and gave out a great yell.
“Atla! What is the meaning of this?” He called crossly pulling the harpoon from his side with a mighty grunt.
"Father," Ikan mother began speechlessly "I. . ."
“You teach this boy nothing,” the mystical stranger interrupted with a large boom. “It was bad enough that you left home to wed a common fishermen and live among humans taking on their behaviors but then you allow my grandson to disrespect his true heritage!”
“Oh great Poseidon It is all my fault. I admit my folly. I should have chastised my son more thoroughly. I neglected to teach him the truth about who he was and where he came from. Please, please father punish me and spare my only child!”
But Poseidon was not moved by his daughter’s emotional display. Thus he turned to the boy and began to pass judgment upon him.
“Ikan because of your insolence and complete disregard for the safety of aquatic life you will be cursed to wander the darkest, deepest depths of the sea as a fish for all eternity.
With that the waters opened eagerly awaiting to swallow the young boy whole. Without warning Poseidon wrapped his massive tail around Ikan’s waist ripping him from the grip of his mother's arms and flinging him into the belly of the ocean to be digested by the angry sea forever…
However, forever isn’t always forever. And Ikan remained bounded by the sea only until the sporadic day 2,000 years later when a very special pineapple princess made a very special wish.

I like to wonder and daydream about how the future will be and what it was like to live in the olden days. I believe in time travel an think they are time travelers living among us just like in Phil of the future.
I think that one day I will be one of the first to meat an alien and I will learn about his culture and travel to his planet and visit with his family and we will be good friends.
I love science fiction movies and my favorite is K-PAX and THX -1138 and I Am Legend and the Matrix. I also love the Rocky Horror Picture show but my mom won’t let me watch it to much.
I also love to play video games. My favorite type of video games are RPG like Zelda and action games like Counter-strike.
Two times a week I attend a home school peer group with other kids my age. I wish it was more often so I could spend more time with my friends and not so much time at home but I live in a small boring town with nothing to do.
I’m a big music buff and know lots of things about lots of bands from N’sync to the Smiths. I spend about half of my day listing to music either on my computer or my ipod.
I love fashion and would like to be a fashion model like Tyra Banks and move to New York and live in a big super model house with all the other models. My favorite movie about fashion is The Bratz movie because they have all the best clothes. I also Love New York Minute with Mary-Kate and Ashley. M-K & A make the prettiest clothes at Wal-mart.

Snow Day Today
Today is a snow day in my town which means nothing to me because I still have to get up and right an essay on “Whistler’s Mother”. I don’t know who Whistler’s Mother is or why he likes to whistle so much but I got to find the bulk of this information out by mid morning for my art history class. And then it’s on to cooking which I hate. I know how to make all my favorite foods, like Frosted Flakes why do I have to learn how to cook. Cooking is unbearable!
Later I might ask my mom if I can go outside and play in the snow. (Oh how I love the snow.) But knowing my mom she’ll probably say “honey, It’s below freezing out you’ll catch your death of cold.”
So for the most part I will be stuck in the house all day watching PBS, (our cable is off) unless Later today I can sneak and watch the Simpsons on channel 38. |
