Re: gay stereotypes

Taken into account the displeasure expressed by Dave, the delightfully
refreshing perspective of Khoa, the notion of being oppressed, and Apelo's
suggestion of live and let live, it made me think :) Incorporating various
tidbits indeed is an enlightening process for me.

I wonder if the sometimes pompous display by bare-butt, etc .. is an
inevitable reaction/overreaction to the need to be and to assert oneself
against a suffocating feeling of being oppressed/rejected.

As one having little clue about the homosexual experience, I thank you all
for the comments thus far, and look forward to learning more. I must confess
that I find such display, objected by (??), to be unproductive since it
misportrays the norm, and challenges acceptance in an reactionary turn-offish
manner.

It is important, in my mind, to establish communication and relation-
ship among groups of differing experiences. Outrageousness, as useful as it
is at times, unfortunately ends up the only representation that the media
grabs onto and with which the general population entertains into reality.

All that doesn't add up to a very hopeful scenario.
