I have been to Taiwan several times and it is hard to beat! I always go to YungKang Beef Noodle in Taipei, my alltime favorite place on earth of that particular dish. My favorite dumplings (chewy, not gooey)and green onion cake (airy and light)in the LA area are at the Dumpling House, southeast corner of Las Tunas and Rosemead blvds. in a strip mall. Better than Peking in Westminster I believe, and I eat at Peking almost weekly. The best beef noodle I know of is in Torrance at a very small, modest place called Sue's Kitchen, northeast corner of Lomita and Crenshaw, also in a strip mall. The broth is what I'm addicted to. I've tried to recreate it at home, but can't come close. I live in Orange County but go to both of these places regularly. Sorry I don't know the exact addresses. Hope this helps a bit!
