Windows 95/97:-
1-Click on start -> Programs -> Accessories
-> Internet Tools
Click on get on the internet
2-A screen (get connected)
will appear. Click on next.
3-A screen (Welcome to internet setup) will appear
click next.
4-On the next screen (Service Provider information) type "Brain
NET" and then click Next.
5: On next screen (Setup Options) choose
" Manual " configuration and click Next.
6: Here ("How to Connect"
screen) choose " Connect using Local Area Network" and click Next.
type DialUp numbers 131-45678 (Nationwide) /131-45679 (Lahore only).
(For non-digital PTCL subscribers dialup numbers are 5422222 and 5422888 Lahore
only)
7: Type your user name and password and click Next.
8: Select
"My internet service provider automatically assigns me one" and click
Next
9: Click Next.
10: Type your email address and "brain.net.pk"
in internet mail server and click Next.
11: A screen (Windows Messaging profile)
will appear here click Next.and then click Finish.
Your Internet Installation
is now complete!
Windows 98:-
1: Click on Start -> Program -> Internet
Explore -> click on
Connection Wizard
2: Click
on option 2 (Connect Through LAN) and click Next.
3: Click on option
1 (Connect Through LAN) and click Next.
4: Select the option "Connect
using my local area network(LAN)
and click Next.
5:
Check "YES" and click Next.
6: Click Next (on current
screen).
7: Type " brain.net.pk " in space provided for "
DO not use
a proxy server for these addresses " and
click Next.
8: Check Log on using POP account name and type your user
name
in space provided for POP account name and click Next.
9: Check " Use an existing internet mail account " and click Next.
10: Type your full name in the space provided and click Next.
11: Type your
email address in the space provided and click Next
12: Check " YES "
and click Next.
13: Select POP3 for Incoming mail server and type " brain.net.pk
"
in the space provided for POP3 server and "
smtp.brain.net.pk "
in the space provided for SMTP
server and click Next.
14: Type your name in the space provided and click
Next.
15: Check " NO " for Internet News account and click Next.
16: Check " NO " for Internet Directory Setup and click Next.
17:
Click " Finish " to complete the setup.
Your Internet Installation
is now complete!
Mail
Settings
Netscape Communicator:-
1-Click Edit->Preferences->Mail
and Groups->Click Identity
enter your name and your Email address
2-Click
on mail server for incoming mail server settings
3-Click on add. Here enter
"brain.net.pk" in incoming mail server
4-Select POP3 server type
and enter your user name
5-Type "smtp.brain.net.pk" in out going
mail server address
then enter your user name in outgoing mail server user
name
click ok
Your Netscape Messanger is configured !
Outlook
Express
1-Click on Tools->Click Accounts->Mail->Add->Mail
enter your name an then click next
2-Enter your email address and click next
3-Select POP3 as your incoming mail server type and type "brain.net.pk"
in incoming mail server address and
"smtp.brain.net.pk" in outgoing
mail server address and click next
4-Type your user name.check off the option
of remember password click next click Finish
Your email has been successfully
configured !
DomainSettings
If you have good experience with Windows FTP Command,
you can
use the following system of uploading:
1. Goto Start ->
Run.
2. Type 'ftp://brain.net.pk ' and press Enter.
3. Give your user
name and password (as stated above).
4. Type 'bin' and press enter.
5.
Type 'cd public_html' and press enter
6. Type 'lcd c:\webpage' (where c:\webpage
is the directory in which
you have stored your webpage),
and press enter.
7. Type 'mput *' and press enter. This will start the upload
procedure.
8. Close the connection by typing bye when you are finished.
If you want a graphical interface, I would suggest that you use
CuteFTP32,
it is available from our download site,
http://hataf.brain.net.pk/software/internet/FtpCollect/
After Installing,
add a profile for your server using the
following method:
1. Click
on Add Site when you start CuteFTP.
2. Type 32wsd in hostaddress
3. Type
your username as provided above.
4. Type your password as provided above.
5. Change Login Type to normal.
6. Change initial remote directory to htdocs.
7. Click on OK.
8. Connect.
9. You can upload using the drag and drop
methods.

the name of your main html file is index.html.
This is the file that
will automatically get loaded when someone
gives the address of your
webpage.
Along with
the domain you have one free email address. We have created
info@your domain
name as the default email address. You can administer
or change this address
yourself. The method of administration is:
1. Goto Start => Run
2. Type 'telnet your domain name'
3. Press Open.
4. Give your username
as :mailed to you
5. Give your password as :mailed to you
6. You'll see
a menu that can be used to administer email addresses.
To receive e-mail from
this account, you will have to use the following
settings in your email software:
Incoming (POP3) server: your domain name
Outgoing (SMTP) server: your domain
name
username : info (unless you have changed
it)
password : mailed to you (unless you have
changed it)

a server for FAST DALnet IRC access. You can access this server by simply changing
the name of the server you connect to.
What You Need
An IRC Client. IRC
Client is a program that connects you to an IRC server. Several such programs

How to Connect
Pirch Users
- Start Pirch.
- Click on the button labelled Login.
- In the text box labelled "Server"
type "irc.brain.net.pk".
- Click on Connect.

- When inside the connection settings window,
Click on Add.
- In the Server name type "irc.brain.net.pk".
- Click OK.
- Click on Connect.

Brain NET has setup
a proxy for Real Audio downloads. Now you can listen to Real Audio Live!.
Want to listen to BBC's local transmissions in the UK? Or a live concert in Sydney?
Or simply a clip from Mariah Carey's new album? Now you can! All you need to do
is:
Download RealPlayer
Setup RealAudio: - Install Real Player 5. Don't worry
about the settings right now. Just choose the setting that suit you (eg. Modem
speed).
- Start Real Player 5.
- Click on the View menu. Sample Picture
- Click on Preferences... Sample Picture
- Click on Proxy.
- In the field labelled "RealPlayer
Proxy", type "proxy3.brain.net.pk".
- In the column labelled port type
