as Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences in Fall 1997.
Areas of interest include
mass media and political communication with a special focus on island and
stateside Puerto Ricans. He has experience in survey methodology.
His writings include "Political
Communication Behaviors in the 1992/1996 Elections in Puerto Rico" (submitted
to Revista de Ciencias Sociales, UPR)

as Associate Professor of Education in Fall 1999. Areas of interest
include educational
ethnography, teacher education, school reform, and migration and schooling.
Recent publications include Puerto Rican Return Migrants in Sonia Nieto's forthcoming
Puerto Rican Students in U.S. Schools (L. Erlbaum). She has also published
in the Journal of Social and Behavioral Sciences and in the American Behavioral
Scientist. She has taught at Rhode Island College, Brown University and at
the University of Puerto Rico.

in Fall 1997. Areas of interest include mass communication and ethnic minority/gender
studies. She is currently engaged in research with Puerto Ricans and other
Latinos in Connecticut and selected U.S. cities. She has many articles in
refereed journals and books, including "Latina/o Experiences Mediated Communication" Our
Voices, 3rd ed., (Eds) by Gonzales, Houston and Chen. She is co-editor of
the volume called Brown and Black Communication: Conflict and Convergence

Recent publications include "Nicholasa
Mohr," a chapter in Reading U.S. Latina Writers: Remapping American Literature
and her forthcoming book, Pura Belpre: Her Life and Writings, to be published
in the award-winning Recovery series at the University of Houston (Arte Publico)
in 2004. Works in progress include articles on Latina feminist pedagogy and
literature and a textbook anthology of Latina/o literature.
