SWAYZAK - Route de la Slack

Remixes & Rarities 2CD (!K7195CD)

release date March 20st 2006

James Taylor and David "Brun" Brown first took their places behind the mixing board in 1993. Four albums, around thirty singles, and who knows how many remixes later, Swayzak is synonymous with free-spirited Minimal House, and it's time for a retrospective.

This Spring, nine years after their first release, !K7 Records and Swayzak will release a collection of remixes and previously unreleased tracks entitled ROUTE DE LA SLACK to celebrate the group's tremendous recording history.

Remixes EP (!K7193EP)

If you've ever worked retail you should be familiar with this phenomenon: someone releases a 12", puts a Swayzak remix on the B-side and now all of a sudden everyone in the record store is asking for "this one record with the Swayzak remix" and it's your responsibility to figure out which one it could possibly be. To make it up to you, James Taylor and David "Brun" Brown of Swayzak have collected all of their favorite remixes along with several previously unreleased tracks onto one 2CD release, coming out on !K7 this Spring.

What do you expect ?

what can I say my first trip to Belgrade and Bucharest . Francesco and I had high hopes and the whole weekend got off to a bad start with the non arrival of francescos drum equipment ! So sadly we had to seriously improvise for both shows - The first show in Belgrade was interesting as I saw all the debris of war on the way . bombed out HQ’s and fighter jets at the airport . The people in Belgrade were super nice and looked after us well but we had some problems with power supply (there was none) . Anyway usually I get well wound up but today I was cool and quite happy with a beer waiting for the sound check to come! As it was outdoors I think I was relaxed enough in this fine summer evening !
