Margaret and Joe Bass have been touring Australia for over 23 years. They have travelled thousands of kilometers across, around and through some of Australia's most inhospitable terrain. Theirs is no ordinary journey, preferring to leave the comfort of sealed roads and travel through deserts on little used tracks, discovering on their journey, water-holes, dams, parched riverbeds, spectacular mountains and sometimes gullies unexpectedly filled with lush vegetation. Margaret is the navigator and documentor of the team. She has a large collection of items retrieved from the desert including animal skulls coloured sands and a variety of rocks. Joe, has the uncanny knack of instinctively knowing the best place for a campsite as well as the whereabouts of a spot camped at many years before.
