Art Show
The WisCon 29 Art Show and Tiptree Award sale items will be
displayed together in the University room of the ConCourse.
We'll be experimenting with a new process for buying art at WisCon 29.
In the old approach, it was pretty complicated. You looked through the Art Show, found the pieces you were interested in, went into contortions to write your name
on the bid sheet, then waited until Sunday evening to see if you were the high bidder. Most people returned several times to check.
For WisCon 29, it's going to be more like a store. We'll hang the art on Friday and open the show for viewing only Friday evening. And, starting when we
open on Saturday morning, if you want a piece you can buy it. Right then, no hassles. Just bring the "purchase" part of the tag to the Art Show desk
and give them your money. And it's yours.
As much as possible, we'd like to leave the art hung until Sunday evening so everyone can see it, but if you're only at the convention for a day, or you have to leave early, you'll be able to take your artwork with you when you go.
So please come by, any time during the convention, look at the art, and buy some.
Convention members will have the opportunity
to vote on the art show awards again this year. WisCon 29's art show
will continue to focus on feminist art, art by women, and art by Midwestern
artists.
If you are interested in participating in WisCon 29's Art Show, more information can be found at
the Art Show invitation and registration page. At this point, we are full but accepting artists who would like to be on the wait list for space.
Dealers' Room
You can find books, toys, poster, artwork, magazines, cards,
jewelry, and all sorts of science fiction and fantasy related merchandise in
the Dealers' Room. It's a great place to look for books by WisCon authors. Take
yours to the book signing events and get them signed by the authors! If you've
never attended an SF convention Dealers' Room, think of it as a very big museum gift shop in
with dozens of merchants.
The Dealers Room for WisCon 29 is full and we are not taking any more table reservations. Our normal prices and rules are $30 for each table.
All dealers must be WisCon 29 members, and convention registration
is not included in the table fee. Please contact Hank Luttrell at
Dealers@sf3.org for more information.
Tiptree Display
The Tiptree Display is located in the Gathering on Friday afternoon, and then in the Art Show. Auction items are
displayed, and you may place bids on them before the Auction on Saturday evening. Tiptree t-shirts are also sold starting
on Saturday morning. And some items are available for sale at any time, such as the Tiptree anthologies and cookbooks. Some items are
