About the Drayson Center
Loma Linda University Drayson Center, recreation and wellness complex for students, faculty, staff, family members, and the surrounding communities, is named in honor of Ronald and Grace Drayson, who donated the Alto Camino mobile home park to the University. With an estimated value of $8 million, this gift provided the cornerstone for funding the construction of the Center. It represents a glittering centerpiece of two lives dedicated and committed to service through the years.
"Drayson Center was conceived in the tradition of the health principles of the Seventh-day Adventist Church," says B. Lyn Behrens, MBBS, president of Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center (LLUAHSC). "The good health of the students, faculty, and University community will be served by this facility with its wellness emphasis."
The $16.2 million Center, which opened its doors on January 11, 1995, encompasses a 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that serves as the focal point for out-of-class campus life at Loma Linda University. Students from all eight schools on campus congregate at Drayson Center for fitness, recreational and social activities and programs that emphasize and promote physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual wholeness.
