| Have you ever visited your children or your grandchildren in another city? What do you suppose that trip cost you? The financial costs of visiting your children in another city is yet one more "Hidden Tax" of the current governmental system. Children and grandchildren have been leaving town for a generation in order to seek professional opportunities in other cities. The emotional cost is that we do not get to see our families on Sunday afternoons, an unexpected Tuesday evening, not to mention the many holidays of the year spent apart. The flight of gifted young
people is directly associated with the lack of jobs in the region. The lack of jobs is attributable, at least in part, to our multiple governmental entities competing for business in the area, rather than cooperating to bring business to the region as a whole. |
