He was also in As You Like It at the Virginia Shakespeare Festival, Death of a Salesman and O. Henry’s Christmas at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre. Film and TV credits include “That Championship Season”, “Mike Hammer”, “3rd Rock From the Sun”, “Even Stevens” “Office Space”, “Space Jam”, “Office Space”, “Indecent Proposal”, and the upcoming film “Shopgirl” with Steve Martin. John is thrilled to be a member of a company filled with so many passionate, talented actors.  John believes everything worth doing is worth doing poorly several times until you get it right, and then it's worth doing brilliantly for as long as it can be done.

A graduate of the UCLA, School of Theater, Film & Television, he has also been seen as a detective in Murder by Misadventure, a thug in Riff Raff, and young love in Spaghetti & Apple Pie at the the Group Repertory Theater. John looks forward to making your head explode in this, and hopefully, many more Circus Theatricals productions to come.

JULIA DEVINE (Friend #3 in Star Song )

With Circus Theatricals:Composer/Musician/Actor in Twelfth Night

Julia Devine, a new member of Circus Theatricals, is thrilled to be making her Circus debut. She has worked with the American Repertory Theatre, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Arden Theatre Company and Arena Stage, among others. Favorite roles include: “Pipe” in The Provoked Wife directed by Mark Wing-Davey at the American Repertory Theatre, “Rosaline” in Love’s Labour’s Lost at the ART Institute, “Girl” in The Transfiguration of Benno Blimpie directed by Marcus Stern, and “Ilse” in Spring Awakening directed by Janós Szasz at the Moscow Art Theatre and American Repertory Theatre. An accordionist and pianist, she composes music and performs throughout Los Angeles. She recently received her MFA in Acting from the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University.

Jenni is thrilled to be making her debut with Circus, having recently moved from Chicago where she worked in theatre for over 10 years. LA credits: Still Photos at Celebration Theatre. Recent Chicago roles: Mary Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play at ATC; Lady Oona O’Neill Chaplin in Piven Theatre’s world premiere Lady Chaplin & Her Tramp; Francesca in Live Bait’s critically acclaimed Blind Tasting (Jeff Citation nomination, Best Supporting Actress). JILL GASCOINE (Lilith in Moon Man)

With Circus Theatricals, Sister Cities, Madame Ranevskaya in The Cherry Orchard. Other roles with Circus Theatricals include Queen Elizabeth in Richard III, for which she received an LA Weekly Award Nomination for "Supporting Female Performance," and Queen Gertrude in "Hamlet."

Born in London, Jill's vast theatre credits include "St. Joan," "Antigone," "Twelfth Night," "Uncle Vanya," "Arms & the Man," "Candida," "Anthony and Cleopatra," "A Streetcar Named Desire," "Joan of Lorraine," "Night of the Iguana," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf," "Night Street", "42nd Street," "Destry Rides Again," and "Pal Joey." She starred in the long-running UK television series "The Gentle Touch" and then starred as the same character in its spin-off series "Cat's Eyes."

L.A. television/film credits include "Baseketball," Northern Exposure," and "Touched by an Angel." A published novelist,Jill is working on her foruth book. She is married to actor Alfred Molina, and recently became a United States citizen. Jill is a Circus Theatricals Associate Artist.

DEDALUS HYDE (Bob in Joey)

Dedalus has recently returned to the acting world after a decade living in San Francisco and working in the mental health care field. Prior to that, he studied at UCLA and appeared in a number of TV shows, including “Beverly Hills 90210”, “Melrose Place”, and “Murder She Wrote”, amongst others. Since returning to Los Angeles one year ago, he has worked in over 10 short films and landed several roles on TV. His recent theater credits include the leads in the original one-act play If Only at the Marin County Fringe Festival and in The Sure Thing at the Walch Acting Workshop Showcase.

EMMA MESSENGER (Delores in The Birds Sing Too Loud)

Originally from England, Emma spent her childhood in Texas. She graduated from TAMU with BA’s in both Theater and English. She interned at American Stage in St. Petersburg, Florida. Favorite roles include Julia in Lend Me a Tenor, Maria in Twelfth Night, Stella in Dear Liar, Eleanor in The Lion in Winter, and Amanda in The Glass Menagerie. Emma recently finished acting in the independent film Young Again. She can also be seen in the online pilot for Retail at www.retailpilot.blip.tv.

Cameron Meyer is a new member of Circus Theatricals and is thrilled to be a part of this production. JESSICA NOBOA (Irene in Saver)

With Circus Theatricals: Maria in The Heiress, Irina in The Three Sisters (Great Scenes from Chekov and Ibsen). Jessica recently finished two productions, A Tribute to SNL and A Boys Life, at Hollywood Fight Club Theater. Before that she was living in the rainy city of Seattle, Washington, where she played Balthasar in an all-girls production of Romeo and Juliet. Some of her other works include Laura in the Glass Menagerie and Eng-Eling in Golden Child.

KATHRYN PLAYA (Lisa in Joey)

Kathryn Playa has had a fascinating journey through the world of theology and soup kitchens, including a few years as a high school religion teacher, before pursuing her career as an actress. Some of her favorite theatrical roles include Lorna Moon in Golden Boy, (MacGuffin Theater Co), Dorothy in “The Thin Man” (Urban Empire),“The Trip to Bountiful” (Provincetown Rep), Stone in Ray Bradbury’s “Kaleidescope” (at the Blue Heron Theater and the NYC Fringe Festival, directed by Hilary Adams), Christine in “Phantom of the Opera” and the Nurse in “Romeo and Juliet”. Kathryn has starred in several independant films, as well as appeared on “Saturday Night Live” and “ESPN”. She is a graduate of The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City and The British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.

Born and raised in the LA area, Chelsea’s theater credits include: The Night of the Black Cat at Edgemar Center for the Arts, Brigadoon GCT, at PCPA Theaterfest: Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Sound of Music, and Brighton Beach Memoirs. At Tuacahn Amphitheater: Annie Get your Gun, Seven Brides... Oklahoma!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. VANESSA WATERS (Friend #1 in Star Song)

Vanessa has made many appearances on stage here in Los Angeles. Some favorite roles are: Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Jessica in The Merchant of Venice, Jill in Johnson Over Jordan, Helen in Baby with the Bathwater, Petra in An Enemy of the People and Queen Elizabeth in Richard III. She has enoyed working as an assistant director and director for theater as well. Vanessa has also had much fun acting for the camera in film and television. She especially enjoys working as a loop group, voice over artist. Vanessa is a graduate of the Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts and received her BFA in Theater from Ithaca College.

BRYNA WEISS (Clarice in The Birds Sing Too Loud)

This is Bryna's first Circus Theatricals production. She appeared at D.C.'s Kennedy Center in "Transfiguration at Precint #__", at Studio Arena in--THE ROSE TATTOO (w/Olympia Dukakis), OTHER VOICES, OTHER ROOMS (w/Swoosie Kurtz), THE MUSIC MAN,  and MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN, etc., most recently at The Laguna Playhouse as Zippa in  the award winning Israeli play, THE MASTER OF THE HOUSE.  At The Playhouse, which she and her husband, Joe built on Main Street in Buffalo's Theatre District,  Bryna served as Co-Executive Director and Artistic Director.  She produced some twenty productions; directed and acted in numerous Playhouse award-winners, most notably THE PRICE, MORNING'S AT SEVEN, and I  NEVER SANG FOR MY FATHER.  In LA, Bryna appeared in  LOST UNCLES… (w/ Shelley Berman-The Court Theatre), CEMETERY CLUB (Theatre East) and ANASTASIA KRUPNIK (Gary Marshall's Falcon Theatre) and THE OLDEST PROFESSION at The Odyssey..   Bryna won LA Times raves for her roles in the Steven Schwartz/Studs Terkel  musical, WORKING (Ascending Artists Stage), THE LAST PITCH (American Renegade Theatre) and THE AMERICAN DREAM (w/Frances Bay). Bryna is also a member of The Road Theatre Company. She played in Jeff Passero's SALUTE TO BROADWAY and the Stephen Tobolowsky directed, World Premier of BLUE SILENCE and in the McCadden Theatre production of MY PRESIDENT.  She has appeared in her award winning one-woman play, LILY, by Hindi Brooks,  in New York State (Artpark,JCC, Anne Frank Exhibit);  in LA(Odyssey Theatre, Beverly Hills and Main Libraries, etc.), Switzerland, Italy, Israel, London, Australia, Hawaii, Mexico and Canada and all over the U.S.  Bryna's supporting roles in feature films include  SLUMS OF BEVERLY HILLS (w/Alan Arkin), DELICATESSEN STORY (w/ Jerry Adler and Brad Garrett of  Everybody Loves Raymond), GOSSIP-THE EVIL TONGUE (Jewish Film Festivals,etc.),  the award winning, ASHES,   SCREWY LOUIE (w/Jeff Fahey),  QUALITY OF LIFE,  MY DARK LADY, TAXI, (w/Queen Latifah), KEEPING UP WITH THE STEINS (w/Gary Marshall, Daryl Hanna, Richard Benjamin, Doris Roberts and Neal Diamond) and ALIBI (w/ Joe Estevez).  She has just been cast in the feature film, "Not Forgotten" (starring Simon Baker).  Bryna has appeared in numerous  national commercials; has co-starred and guest starred often in TV's NYPD Blue, The District, Two of a Kind, Life with Bonnie,  The O'Keefes, The Drew Carey Show, The Gilmore Girls, Reno 911, Rodney, the pilot, More, Patience, and most recently, House and Desperate Housewives.    On Public Television, she guest-hosted episodes of ARTSCENE interviewing O.J. Simpson, Tony Bennett, Kate Reid and others.

Jami Brandli

JAMI BRANDLI (playwright, Moon Man)

An Elliot Award Winning playwright, Jami Brandli has had plays produced and/or staged in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, New Mexico and Washington DC where she was accepted as a Visiting Artist at the Kennedy Center for their Playwriting Intensive (2006, 2007). Most recently, she received a literature fellowship from SAC/Massachusetts Cultural Council and was a semi-finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Center. She also has a ten-minute play forthcoming in the Smith & Kraus Anthology The Best Ten-Minute Plays 2007, 2 Actors. For screenwriting, she's had six short films produced and served as the Chair of the 2007 Women in Film and Video/NE's screenwriting competition.  Her short stories have been published in Salt Hill, Other Voices, and Memorious.  She's currently a finalist for Disney ABC's 2008 Writing Fellowship and a proud member of The Dramatists Guild.

ROBERT CICCHINI (Director, Star Song)

As an actor: Numerous Circus Theatricals productions include performances in Twelfth Night, Man.gov, Three Sisters, Hedda Gabler, Tartuffe, Modigliani, the Circle, Twelfth Night, The Job (Garland Award for Acting). As Director: The Lower Depths, The Maids, Antigone (Anouilh’s). Circus Theatricals Associate Artist. Member since 1987. As a director for Circus Theatricals: The Heiress, Antigone, The Maids, The Lower Depths.

Robert has over 100 credits in film, Television and the theatre. Recent films include: “War of the Worlds,” “Mrs. Harris,” and the upcoming “Dream Girls.” He has worked with many great film directors, including: Steven Spielberg, Francis Coppola, John Frankenheimer, Nike Nichols, and Spike Lee. His television credits include: future episodes of "CSI New York" and "Las Vegas," “CSI,” “Six Feet Under,” “Cold Case,” “24,” and most recently “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Desperate Housewives,” and the upcoming “State of Mind.”

STEVEN FRIEDLAND (director, Safe)

Steven is the co-founder & co-artistic director of Crashbox Players, and has directed critically-acclaimed productions of “Ourselves Alone”, and “Oleanna”. He has also directed LA productions of “Betrayal” and “Scenes for American Life”. Steven also works as a television editor for such shows as “Disney’s Movie Surfers”, and the upcoming ABC series, “Here Come the Newlyweds”. Steven received his Master’s Degree in filmmaking from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and his Bachelor's Degree at Northwestern University where he majored in Theater. This is his first production with Circus Theatricals.

His play My Italy Story (Penguin Rep, TheatreWorks, Seton Hall University), which had its New York debut Off-Broadway at the 47th Street Theatre, and was nominated for the Gay Talese Literary Prize, was revived last season at 12 Miles West Theater in New Jersey. His work has also been seen in New York at the Obie award-winning Ice Factory Festival at the Ohio Theater, where he wrote and produced Tannhauser: The Play, and wrote the text for the dance/theater piece 80% of Love. His play Ya Gotta Believe _ was produced recently in Mile Square Theatre’s Seventh Inning Stretch Ten Minute Play Festival. His work has additionally been seen on the stages of HERE, Circle Rep Lab, Pearl Theater, Samuel Beckett Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, 78 th Street Theatre, Waterfront Ensemble, Atlantic Theatre Company, Cincinnati Playhouse, Delaware Stage Company, Seven Angels Theatre, Orlando Fringe Festival, and at both the Hayworth Theatre and the Hudson Guild Theatre in Los Angeles.

Jack Kenny

JACK KENNY (playwright, The Birds Sing Too Loud)

Jack created the NBC series The Book of Daniel and FOX’s Titus, and has written for In Case of Emergency, Wanda At Large, Caroline in the City and Dave’s World, among others.  He has directed several episodes of Titus, the WB series Reba, the WB pilot Joint Custody, and Norman Rockwell is Bleeding, a comedy special for Showtime. Jack was also an actor for 15 years, and has performed on Broadway (Fiddler on the Roof), off-Broadway, and in regional theatres.  He’s a graduate of the Juilliard School.

“Birds…” is the first play Jack has written since his high school musical version of Shakespeare’s Julius Ceasar, “Julie, We Hardly Knew Ye.”  Jack thanks his partner of 25 years, Michael, for putting up with his crazy aunts for 4 days!

JERRY LAMBERT (playwright, Joey)

Jerry has made Circus Theatricals his theatrical home since 2001. He has acted in several of their productions, including Richard III, The Three Sisters, and two Festivals of New One Act Plays. Four of his short plays have been produced by Circus Theatricals, including “Straight Talk,” “Coffee To Go,” “Lipstick Sunset,” and now “Joey.” He recently won “Best Actor” at the Portland 48-Hour Film Festival for the film “Troisieme” that he co-wrote with Oregon filmmaker Brett Vai.l

Recent television and film work includes guest-starring roles on “Brothers and Sisters,” “King of the Hill,” “Cavemen,” and “Greek.” Jerry also starred on the ABC comedy series “Sons and Daughters” and has completed the film “Smother” with Diane Keaton.

Jerry would like to thank Jack and Jeannine Stehlin for their continued support of his work, and for helping to keep theatre relevant and very much alive in the 21 st century.

MARK HARVEY LEVINE (playwright, Saver)

Mark Harvey Levine has had over 300 productions of his plays from New York to Prague to Sidney to Casablanca.  An evening of his plays, "Aperitivos", has been playing in Brazil (translated into Portuguese) since 2005 and is currently on a National Tour there.  Other evenings of his plays, "Cabfare For The Common Man" and "C'est Levine", have played in Los Angeles, Boston and Indianapolis.  His plays have been published in "Laugh Lines" (Vintage) and "Best Ten Minute Plays" 2004, 2005 and 2007 (Smith & Kraus).  He can't throw anything away, either.

JAMES MCLINDON (playwright, Safe)

James McLindon will have four full-length and five one-act plays produced in 2007-08 in theaters across the country, eight of them world premieres. His play, Distant Music , a finalist for the Kaufman and Hart Prize for New American Comedy, enjoyed three productions last spring, including a sold-out run by the Image Theater in Lowell, Mass. which was remounted in Boston this past October. His play, Dusk, premiered at the Grove Theater Center in Burbank last June (“Recommended,” L. A. Times). His play, A Brief History of Penguins and Promiscuity will open at the Grove in January, 2008.

JACK STEHLIN (Director of Moon Man / Circus Theatricals Artistic Director)

Jack founded Circus Theatricals in New York in 1983, and has produced over 40 plays in NYC and Los Angeles. An award-winning actor, Jack has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatre, and stages around the world. Jack is an alumnus of John Houseman's The Acting Company and a graduate of the Juilliard School. Most recently, he as seen on stage in the Circus Theatricals production of Complexity, and the Los Angeles premiere of Salome with Al Pacino, directed by Estelle Parsons.

As an actor, his Circus Theatricals productions include The Misanthrope, The Circle , Macbeth, Hamlet, Richard III, Tartuffe, True West, The Cheats of Scapin, The Job. Other Los Angeles Theatre:Speed-the-Plow (Los Angeles premiere), and Habitation of Dragons (Zephyr). His extensive notable New York credits include Richard II (dir. Steven Berkoff), Henry V (w/Kevin Kline), Casanova (w/ Ethan Hawke, dir. by Michael Greif), Henry IV, I (w/Mandy Patinkin, dir by Des McAnuff), Julius Caesar (w/ Al Pacino and Martin Sheen),Timon of Athens (dir. by Brian Kulick), Richard Foreman’s Don Juan, and Romeo and Juliet (dir. by Les Waters).

Sound design credits include Circus Theatricals 7th Annual Festival of One Act Plays (now playing), and The Circle (LA Weekly "Best Sound Design" nomination).

Jeannine made her TV debut as a childe on the popular children's program, "Romper Room."
