The island of Guguan, located 30 km south from Alamagan and 64 km northeast from Sarigan, is a small island of 4 km² measuring 2.8 km across. The island is composed of two volcanic centres — an older eroded volcano in the south and a younger northern volcano. The interior is marked by deep ravines and rises to a height of 301 m on the southern rim of the caldera.
