Izzy can't keep mum about her pregnancy and ends up announcing it to the entire Coffee Shop, much to Karl's horror.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte, who plays Izzy, explained why Izzy lets the cat out of the bag.

"Well, Sky finds out about the baby off Boyd and is making snide remarks," she said. "In a way she wants everyone to know anyway, but once she knows that Sky has found out, she thinks everyone might as well know that she and Karl are expecting. It is an automatic reaction from Sky going off about it."

Izzy tells most of Erinsborough about her pregnancy after Karl has specifically asked her to wait. Natalie explained why Izzy defies Karl in this way.

"Like I said, it was just blurts out because Sky knows and she is a bit upset that her family has betrayed her and told other people," Natalie said. "She is excited as well and she wants to share it. She did want to say it, but I think that if Sky hadn't known, she would have kept it quiet for a bit longer just as Karl had asked her to do."

When asked whether she would have impulsively told the world that she was having a baby or have waited until her partner agreed the time was right, Natalie answered,

"I would probably listen to my partner, I think. If you're in a good relationship, you should be able to talk through it yourself. If I really wanted to say something still, I wouldn't blurt it out, I would talk to my partner first and come to a resolution with him."
