Karl and Susan's Promise
Dr Karl Kennedy
Neighbours star Alan Fletcher
Karl and Susan share a tender moment and resolve to avoid an ugly divorce.
Susan and Karl casually bump into each other and Susan asks Karl for his advice on whether or not she should support Darcy in his quest for day release.
Alan Fletcher, who plays Karl Kennedy, says Karl is reminded during the exchange of how close he and Susan really are.
"Susan and Karl, when they talk honestly to each other, realise that they are still very close and care for each other a great deal," he said.
"It's when they have those moments when they talk about things like Darcy and help each other through their problems that they feel they're closest."
It's this moment of intimacy which prompts their vow to keep their divorce clean.
"That's why they say to each other that they hope they won't have a messy divorce - it's said in a moment of great closeness."
Of course, what fans of the show would like to know is whether this renewed tenderness will see the reunion of Ramsay Street's golden couple.
Alan Fletcher says,
"I think that there's a large part of Karl that will never be able to walk away from Susan, and I think the fans can be assured that there will be many moments in the coming months when Karl's feelings for Susan and Susan's for Karl surface and rear their pretty heads."
If you're a fan of Karl and Susan, you can't afford to miss the next few months!
