Arni Thorarinsson (b.1950) is a nationally renowned journalist and media personality; the author of two gripping thrillers.
The White Rabbit
(Hvíta kanínan, 2000)
An independent sequel to Thorarinsson's first book, The Night has a Thousand Eyes. Einar, a journalist, is forced to go on a vacation in Spain. With his daugther he heads off to the sun, but soon terrible things begin to happen. And those things are only the beginning of a terrifying and exciting course of events where nothing and nobody is what they seem to be.
The Night has a Thousand Eyes
(Nóttin hefur þúsund augu, 1998)
A murder is reported at the Airport Hotel, and journalist Einar is hauled out of bed with a thundering hangover to get the scoop. By chance he hears some things his colleagues do not know, and finds himself the nation's major source on this grisly crime. Einar is told to pursue the case further, and he sets off. But he would have been better off leaving the case alone. A story which captures the reader's attention right up to the final page.

"A witty, sarcastic description of Icelandic society, with a contemptuous and scheming newspaper editor, an exciting plot and a well-told storyline."
Berlingske Tidende
"The excellent psychological analysis of Einar's mental problems is the best bit in Thorarinsson's colourful and witty crime story. He uses deep psychological intuition to lay bare Einar's tortured soul, while at the same time presenting us with a vivid picture of Iceland today. ... Five stars out of six."
