Chiropractic
A large body of anecdotal evidence supports the idea that Chiropractic is not an effective method for preventing cluster headache in most patients, although it may be beneficial in a minority of people who have a cervicogenic (neck) problem that triggers or aggravates their cluster headaches. The root cause of clusters involves metabolic changes and abnormal function of the Hypothalamus and Trigeminal Nerve.
Many people with cluster headache also report referred pain that spreads to the muscles of the neck during a cluster attack - this can give rise to a 'Cluster Lump', that may be due to muscle tension and knotting. In my experience, chiropractic can be of some value as a supportive therapy for this accessory pain, and Myofascial Therapy may also help with the lumps.
