HAVE you ever dreamed of playing alongside Phil Taylor in a major televised darts
tournament? ITV are giving any darts player the chance to win a place in the 2007 Grand Slam of Darts.
An ITV Wildcard Qualifier for the tournament will take place on Sunday 30 September at
Wolverhampton's Aldersley Leisure Village, and allow any darts player to enter.
The winner will be awarded a place in November's inaugural ITV-televised Grand Slam of Darts
at the nearby Wolverhampton Civic, guaranteeing a minimum prize of £4,000 for qualifying.
"This is hugely exciting news for the Grand Slam of Darts," said PDC Chairman
Barry Hearn.
"This is a chance for one ambitious player to join champions of our sport in an event
which is being talked about all over the world.
"We're not only inviting professional players to come along and attempt to qualify;
this knockout is open to any player with the dream of sharing a stage, and even beating, Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld in November.
"The opportunity is there for anybody to enter and come along to live out that dream!
"You only have to think back to the excitement when Goran Ivanisevic won Wimbledon as a
wildcard to realise that miracles and the unexpected happen so often in sport. This is a chance for darts players to make that dream come true."
Entry will be £25 per player and can be made via the PDC online entry system or on 08712 501 180.
Tickets for the £300,000 Grand Slam of Darts are on sale now from the
