Exhibitions Page – Coming Soon

We will soon be adding a new Exhibitions page to the Disappearing London site. This will feature a regularly updated selection of your images and video or audio clips which capture the spirit of Disappearing London. Each Exhibition will stay live for a few weeks before being replaced by a new one. Your exhibitions could be built around a theme or period of history (Victorian pubs, art deco shop fronts etc) or more eclectic selections of images: your favourite buildings, underground spaces, quirky street signs or old-fashioned phone boxes – whatever captures your imagination.

If you’d like to stage an exhibition of your images on the site, please send us a message and contact email address via the Suggest a Story page. If you already have a website of images, and would like to show a selection of these on our pages, with a link to your own site, we would also be pleased to hear from you.

MPs call for a Shop Tsar

In a report published in January 2007 the cross party Parliamentary Small Shops Group called for the appointment of a ‘shop Tsar’ to prevent big chains monopolising the high street . It highlighted Twickenham where Tesco have a 47% share of the consumer market. If you shop in Twickenham or run a shop in Twickenham why not have your say on the forum or send us your story?
