welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me, welcomes the One who has dispatched Me” Luke 9:48 (CB) |
A friend of our Savior is a friend of ours! So, thank you for visiting our website. Just relax now, you’re with family. We’re not cultists, not salesmen, not preachers, not critics, not cops just family. We won’t talk mean to you, talk down to you, try and trick you, or force you to do anything . . . and we don’t even need you to agree with us. No, we just want to give you whatever you are looking for . . . whether it’s just rest, encouragement, peace, unity, background knowledge, or the joy of discovering some hidden insight. Also, we hope that our love is showing, and that you’ll find our “quiet Web pages” to be most pleasant, useful, and revealing. We have purposely not used any “flashing lights” or any graphics, images, or pictures of any kind on any of these pages (not even the “buttons” down the left side are graphics). We only want to impress you with “solid content” not with meaningless “glitter.”
Flashy “glitter” may be appropriate for other sites to gain and keep your attention, and to rise above the clutter of so many Web pages. However, these flashy things aren’t appropriate for this site. We are “quiet people” trying to follow what Paul said in the Bible to the Thessalonians: “. . . Yet we are encouraging you, brothers and sisters, to [love one another (1 Thes. 4:9) and to] continually do so more abundantly, to continually make it your ambition to live quietly, to be continually engaged in your own affairs, and to be continually working with your hands, just as we have charged you; so that you might be continually walking respectably towards outsiders [unbelievers], and so that you might never have need of anything” 1 Thes. 4:10-12 (CB).
We remember, too, that our Teacher, Master, and Savior was also “quiet,” as it was prophesied by Isaiah [Isa. 42:2] and recorded in the Bible in Matt. 12:19: “He won’t cause conflicts, nor yell; nor will anyone hear His voice in the town squares” (CB). So, if our only Leader wouldn’t “yell” at people, then neither will we “yell” at you with “loud Web pages,” nor will we preach at you, or talk down to you, since such things are neither friendly, nor gentle, nor loving.
Now, please don’t misunderstand: yes, we are “quiet people” but no, we aren’t “silent people”! We will not preach at you, talk down to you, or impose ourselves on you but we are very enthusiastic about spreading the Good Message about our Savior, The King, and Him reigning over the Kingdom “until He has placed all His enemies under His feet” 1 Cor. 15:25 (CB).
The Christian Bible Society is a nonprofit concern dedicated to publishing and distributing a literal, accurate translation of God’s Word (“the Bible”) in plain English, along with other Bible-related materials. The Christian Bible Society is not, nor should it ever be considered, the headquarters of a religious sect or denomination; also it is not, nor should it ever be considered, either an official or unofficial voice for any religious sect or denomination.
We recognize only one leader, one head, one official voice; so, we are not affiliated with any earthly, religious headquarters sect or denomination, since we acknowledge only the Leader that is, our Savior and His Word because He said in the Bible: “You must not even be called ‘Leader’; for only one is your Leader, the Anointed One! Now the greatest person among you, must continually be your servant! Yet whoever elevates himself, will be humbled [have Life removed from him]; and whoever humbles himself, will be elevated [to Life in the Last Age] ” Matthew 23:10-12 (CB).
The literal, accurate, plain English New Testament (named the “Christian Bible”) which we have published since 1991, and which is in its second edition, along with its “Companion Reference Guide” and our other materials, are only meant to be used as aids to help people in their study of God’s Word (“the Bible”); they are not to be used as a creed or doctrinal material to test whether or not a person is an “acceptable” member of the Faith. As our Savior said in the Bible: “You must stop judging others, so that you shall not be judged” Matthew 7:1 (CB).
lead you away as the spoils of his robbery by means of the empty enticement of his philosophies [his religious speculations (Acts 17:18)] that are in accordance with human tradition and the world’s elementry teachings” Col. 2:8 (CB) |
Back in 1991, when we first began publishing the Christian Bible and its Companion Reference Guide, the “experts” said that based on our printing costs, normal expenses, and shipping costs, that the Bible should be priced at $29.95 and its huge Companion Reference Guide at $38.30. Well, we are now in the “Second Edition” of these books and, as you can guess, our costs and expenses have gone up since 1991 (shipping costs alone have gone up twice), but we really want you to have these two books, and we are a nonprofit concern staffed with volunteers (not employees), so we are continuing to price the Bible at only $20.00, and its Companion Reference Guide at just $25.00. (We pray that this is what God wants us to do!)
But . . . order both of these books together now, and you get an additional $6.00 savings, so that this “Special Offer Duo” costs you only $39.00. That’s a total $29.25 savings from what those “experts” said we should be charging way back in 1991.
So, send us a check (or money order) for $20.00 (Bible), $25.00 (CRG), or $39.00 (Duo), along with your USA shipping address, and we will send out your books. If your shipping address is outside of the USA, e-mail us that address to find out the additional shipping charge.
If you are not
delighted with these books in every way, send them back in saleable condition within
thirty days, and we will promptly refund every penny of your money, no questions
asked! |
Sorry, but we don’t currently handle credit cards or “PayPal.” But, of course, you’re right, when we do, the books will likely end up costing more.
Yes, we’ve priced these books too low, and are giving you too good of a deal – but we are trying to be good spiritual brothers and sisters. We are trying to use “an ideal measure” (giving you more than you would normally expect), in order to obey the following from the Bible: “. . . an ideal measure ( [like grain that is] squeezed down, shaken together, and yet running over [the brim]) they will give to you in your lap; for that measure which you are using to measure others, it will be used as a measure for you in return!” Luke 6:38 (CB).
