HOW
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAMME
ELIGIBLE
AGENCIES: Only the institutions sponsored by
Eligibile Agencies
will be considered for participation. In the first cycle
of the programme the States of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar
Pradesh, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Harayana
have qualified. Other states/UTs can also join in subsequent
cycles. The format
for preparing state reports can be
downloaded. The Institutions have to apply against the
advertisement announced by NPD in National Dailies.

ELIGIBILITY
APPLICATIONS:
Institutions are advised to submitted their Eligibility
Application in duplicate for being considered as Lead
or Network Institutions in one of the two prescribed
formats (for Engineering
Degree Institutions and for Polytechnics)
to the office of the respective State Secretary of Engineering
Education. Institutions in the Central Sector will submit
their Eligibility Applications to the NPIU. |
INELIGIBLE
INSTITUTIONS: May improve their performance status
and reapply in next/other cycle(s). |
FIRST
STEP SELECTION : The State with the help of respective
Screening
Committees
will forward three list of institutions to NPIU:
qualifying Lead Institutions, qualifying Network Institutions
and ineligible Institutions. National
Screening Committee will prepare
a rank order of eligible Lead and Network Institutions.
The list will be made available to the states. |
FORMATION
OF CLUSTERS: Eligible Institutions will form clusters
in consultation with their sponsoring agencies. The
institutions will choose their partners from within
and/or outside the States of their location |
SECOND
STEP SELECTION : NPIU through Evaluation
Committee and Sub Evaluation Committes
will prepare an evaluation report of the Composite
proposals based on the evaluation criteria for the
consideration of National
Selection Committee.
Based on the final ranked list, the NPD will allocate
funds to institutions in order of merit. List of selected
clusters will be intimated to the State Secretaries.
